=----------------------------=

Cold air nips at his exposed body; sweat beads on his brow and chest and long moans slide past his lips. He feels cold fingers feather down his thigh, brushing teasingly against arousal. He rolls his hips upwards, grunting at the back of his throat when he feels a second hand running along his abdomen.

He shuts his eyes tight, palms forming fists as those hands move upward, ghosting over his nipples and smoothing along his jaw.
He lets out a long mewl when cold lips greet him for a kiss, icy tongue pressing forcefully past his lips.

It’s a deluge of pleasure, a wave of desire and passion engulfing his mind and body. His hands grip at the back of Jaejoong’s neck, trying to pull the male even closer.

He lets out a soft gasp when his hands are jerked back and pinned above his head, effectively leaving him immobile.
He can feel himself surrender, his body relaxing under the touch of the sure hands against his heated skin.

Those long-fingered hands slide down his body until they come to rest along the length of his encouraged cock.
He’s not entirely sure if the feeling is pleasurable or not. His mind is thrown into chaos as he tries to work out whether or not the icy friction hurts or feels like the most splendid thing on earth.
A strangled groan slips from the depths of his throat, his eyes rolling back slightly as he fights to work out the mixed signals in his head.
He’s so close to reaching his climax, teetering on the edge of an abyss of carnal pleasure. It’s so close that he can nearly touch it.

Yunho jerks awake with a strangled moan, eyes fluttering against the light from the setting sun.
He feels his heart hammering away in his chest; his breathing coming in short huffs as he sits up and glances around the darkening clearing.

“I don’t know if I should feel flattered that you’re having erotic dreams about my lover.”

Yunho jumps slightly, gaze shifting over the dancing fire to land on Yoochun’s partially amused expression. He shifts in order to cover the half-hard erection he’s sporting.
“I w-wasn’t--”

“Dreaming about getting fucked by Jaejoong?” Yoochun cuts in, a smirk tilting his lips upwards. “Oh of course not. It’s perfectly normal for you to moan Jaejoong’s name and beg for more in your sleep.” He bobs his head, eyebrows lifting to give Yunho a pointed stare.

Yunho blushes a deep shade of red, turning his eyes away from Yoochun’s insufferable face. “I don’t have any control over what I dream.” He isn’t sure how that’s really supposed to relieve the embarrassment of the moment, but it seems like something that’s worth pointing out.

“So does that mean that you lust after Jaejoong on the subconscious level?” Yoochun taps his chin with an air of mock-seriousness, his eyes looking off into the distance as if he’s lost himself in thought.

“So you’re a werewolf?” Yunho questions, digging his thumb into the compact dirt next to his left thigh.

Yoochun gives a slightly amused huff and stretches his legs out in front of himself. “You been talking to Junsu a lot lately?” He questions back, eyebrows arcing slightly.

“How did you know it was Junsu?” Yunho finds himself slightly perturbed that the other male has avoided answering the question, but he pushes those feelings aside and settles his back against one of the logs surrounding the fire.

“That boy couldn’t keep his mouth shut if his life depended on it. He loves to talk and share things with people. It’s just part of who he is.” Yoochun shrugs his shoulders and glances off to the line of trees that edge the small clearing.

“When did you become a werewolf?” Maybe the question is edging on asking things he doesn’t need to know, but he finds himself totally unconcerned about striking an unpleasant chord in the other male.

“Seven hundred years ago on my twenty-third birthday. I got into a fight with three other guys and one of them ended up biting me. It was just my luck that it turned out to be the one werewolf in the group.” Yoochun looks into the fire as he speaks, gaze only flickering towards Yunho once or twice.

“So…today is your birthday?” Yunho questions as he absently tosses a small chunk of wood into the fire, watching as if begins to smolder and char black.

“Happy seven-hundredth birthday to me.” He chuckles as he slides to sit on the ground, back pressed against the rough bark of the log he vacated.

“Why did you switch sides in the war?” Yunho finds himself asking, curling his knees up to his chest and wrapping his arms around his legs.

“I was an assassin on the werewolf side and I was sent out to kill Jaejoong and as many of his followers as I could. At the time, I was nothing but a brainwashed believer in everything the werewolves said about the vampires. I‘d never even met a real vampire before” Yoochun pauses for a moment, digging at the dirt with the heel of his right shoe. “I met Jaejoong along my journey to kill him. I had no idea who he was…didn’t even know that he was a vampire. We got to know each other and I began to see things in a new light. Jaejoong knew who I was all along, but when I found out that he was the guy I was supposed to be killing. I couldn’t do it. It was then that I found out that Jaejoong actually hated me. He didn’t trust me or believe that I really had changed. It took me years to gain his trust, but I got it in the end.” Yoochun finishes off with a slight sigh, lifting distant eyes to catch Yunho’s gaze.

“How long have you two been a couple?” Yunho finds himself whispering the question, mouth going dry around the last word.

“Twenty years.” Yoochun shrugs his shoulders, a slight smirk pulling one side of his mouth up. “You jealous that I got to him first?”

Yunho blinks rapidly, drawing back slightly in a movement of self-defense. “No. I couldn’t care less about you and Jaejoong being together.” He growls back, lifting his chin as if that will keep the other male from seeing the truth lurking deep in his eyes.

“That’s nice to know.”

Yunho startles badly and turns to find the three vampires looking down at him with amused expression. Junsu looks slightly more pitying, but that’s to be expected from him now days.
“Welcome back.” He greets, fighting the blush that’s spreading across his cheeks.

“Did you sleep well?” Junsu questions as he pads forward to take a seat next to Yunho. He places his hand lightly against Yunho’s knee, giving it a comforting squeeze.

“I’d say he had lovely dreams. Did you know that he talks in his sleep?” Yoochun cuts in, smiling up at Jaejoong as the older male settles into a seated position next to him.

“Yeah, that’s why I don’t let him sleep in my tent. I’m also not sure if he’ll end up molesting me in the middle of the night.” Changmin casts Yunho a sideways glance, seeming almost gleeful to find the other male’s shoulders tensed and gaze downcast.

“Changmin!” Junsu huffs, wrapping his arms around Yunho’s stiff shoulders. “You just keep your mouth shut.”

“Of course, Junsu dearest.” Changmin offers the boy a mock-bow, face a picture of put-on seriousness.

“Brat.”

“I love you too, Su.” Changmin chuckles as he settles down next to the fire and turns his attention towards Jaejoong.

“We’ll be leaving camp in about an hour. Junsu, you’ll carry the tents and other bags and Changmin will be responsible for taking care of Yunho.” Jaejoong states as he sinks to the ground next to Yoochun, his arm coming out to rest along the other male’s shoulders.

“Why do I always get stuck with him?” Changmin questions with a sigh, giving Yunho a passing glance of distaste.

“As I recall, I was the one who took care of his last time.” Junsu butts in, eyebrows arching. “I’m always the one who does all the work around here.” He huffs after a small pause, crossing his arms over his chest.

“Why can’t we just walk?” Yunho questions, feeling the blush spreading across his cheeks. They don’t even acknowledge his presence while they’re talking about him like a three-old child.

“It’ll take too long.” Jaejoong responds, cutting off the argument that was on the verge of breaking out between Junsu and Changmin.
“The journey will take at least a week even with us running. If we had to walk it would take us double, if not triple, that.” He explains while folding up his right knee to rest his arm across.

Yunho turns his gaze away, fighting the flutter that builds in his stomach when he sees Jaejoong’s thumb brushing lightly along Yoochun’s shoulder.
He pulls in a deep breath through his nose and pushes himself off the ground, his gaze flickering towards Junsu as he mutters, “I’ll be back.”

“Where are you going?” Jaejoong’s voice shatters the silence, the eyes of the other three males watching with keen interest at the possible confrontation.

“I need to go to the bathroom.” Yunho snaps, turning sharp eyes back on Jaejoong. “Is that alright, or does someone need to hold my hand while I go?” He doesn’t wait for the response before he storms off into the growing darkness of the woods.
He can’t stand being with all of them. Even Junsu’s overwhelming pity is beginning to eat at his last nerve. He hates the way they look at him as if he’s nothing but a naïve child, as if he couldn’t manage on his own for even two minutes.
He doesn’t care anymore if he’s the chosen one or if he’s supposed to overthrow the werewolf race. He just wants to go back to the days where he was buried under his work during the day and drowning in the grips of alcohol at night. He managed to slip through the world with a sort of numb distance, never worrying about his power or control. But now, he’s lost all of that and he’s forced to look at the stark reality that he’s of no importance to anyone sitting around that campfire.

He pushes through the thick branches, cursing the green canopy above for blocking out what little light was left from the sun. He has no idea where he’s going, but anywhere seems a far better place then with the three vampires and their self-loving mutt.

A twig snags in his hair, causing him to jerk back with a muffled yelp. He detangles himself from the tree and rubs at his sore head, pausing to caste a glare back at the tree that had snagged him.

He has no clue where he’s going, just knowing that he’s heading away form the four creatures that had managed to degrade him to nothing more than a blundering child.

A bush rustles off to his left and he freezes, eyes going wide and heartbeat doubling as the reality of what he’s doing comes crashing down on him.
Every little warning that Jaejoong had given him about the jungle also came flooding back into his head, reminding him why he hadn’t dared to rush off into the woods sooner.

‘I’m just hearing things.’ He chants to himself, still standing frozen despite his best efforts to relax himself again.
It’s just when he’s muscles are beginning to loosen that another bush rustles and twig snaps, sending him into a panicked frenzy.

“Who’s there?” He calls out, hardly managing to get the words past the panic that’s tightening around his throat.
He tries to tell himself that maybe Jaejoong and the others have come after him and are just lurking in the bushes, trying to teach him some kind of lesson. He knows in the back of his mind that it’s a futile hope, but he clings to it like a drowning man clings to a float.

He presses his back against the sturdy trunk of a tree, his chest heaving from his growing panic.

A low growl sounds off to his left, followed closely by a similar growl to his right.

Yunho feels his knees grow weak and he finds himself trembling like a dead leaf clinging to the barren branch of a dead tree.
He launches himself off the tree as if on some animal instinct, his panic blinding him to the futility of trying to run from creatures that are probably twice as fast as him.

He dodges and tree and lets out a panicked yell when he spots the shining eyes of an animal keeping pace with him off to his left. He finds the same thing on his right. He knows they’re werewolves by the shear size of their bodies and the features that resembled the ones he’d seen in the forest the other night.

Realizing that running away from the campsite is a bad idea, Yunho spins quickly, tripping over his own feet and falling to the ground.
He’s overwhelmed with panic as he hit’s the forest floor, hands already scrambling to right him.
By the time he’s managed to get back to his feet and take off towards the camp, his can clearly hear the sound of padded feet hitting against the ground.

He holds back the panicked whimper, pushing his fatigued legs further than they’re willing to go.
Where is everyone? Why isn’t Jaejoong bursting into the scene to save him? Why had he left the campsite in the first place?

The last question is the one on his mind as he’s tackled to the ground, his yell echoing in the forest before his head makes contact with a rock and he’s submerged in unconsciousness.

A brown-coated werewolf leans down and almost gently lifts Yunho off the ground by pinching the man’s frail body between gleaming white canines. Just a little to much pressure and Yunho would never wake from his unwilling slumber.

The two werewolves trot off into the depths of the forest, leaving behind hardly a sign that they had been there in the first place.

=--------------------------=

It had been two minutes.

Jaejoong grits his teeth and stands from his position on the ground, a muscle in his jaw jerking in a clear sign of his annoyance.
He can’t believe that he let the other male simply run off into the forest like that. He’d assumed that Yunho wasn’t going to go further then the border of the trees.
But he couldn’t hear anything now, nothing but a few small animals rutting around on the forest floor.

“You okay, Jaejoong?” Yoochun questions, his hand rubbing lightly down Jaejoong’s thigh.

“Yunho’s not back yet.” He growls, stepping away from his lover’s touch in order to move closer to the trees. He perks his ears, waiting for some sign that would give away Yunho’s whereabouts.

Nothing.

He feels that worry begin to nip at the back of his mind, his body tensing as the corresponding anger washes over him. Why is that Yunho chooses to defy him at times when it would prove hazardous to himself? Why did the other man constantly have to make problems by not trusting anyone?

“Changmin, Junsu and Yoochun, spread out and keep your ears open. If you don’t hear anything from Yunho within a minute, start searching the forest.” It’s just after he’s finished speaking that he catches the faint noise.

A growl.

A pause.

A shocked yell and then silence.

Jaejoong takes off into the trees without a moments hesitation, fear boiling in his gut as he realizes exactly what’s happened to Yunho.

Werewolves.
