I don't know how to feel about shipping anyone with Hugh. He kind of drove me nuts. Mayyyybe . . . Hugh/Youngster Joey, then? :P
III is Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald. Partly I just dislike them for completely extrinsic reasons like the fact that I was an angsty teenager when I played them the first time, so they tend to conjure up shitty memories. But also, I found the whole Team Aqua/Team Magma plot awfully dumb. Diamond/Pearl were also kind of forgettable, though. I didn't play them until after I'd played Black, actually, because I'd already kind of given up on Pokemon when they came out, and they sounded forgettable. In the event, I didn't dislike them, though, but I did find them distinctly meh. Like . . . they introduced lots of important things (Arceus!), and I did like Cyrus and Team Galactic, but the whole thing didn't cohere.
Gen V is definitely my favorite, though. It feels like they were trying to reinvent Pokemon since RSE, and they didn't fully succeed until BW. And yes

I love that ship. And MeiMei/Hugh from B2/W2. III was...Diamond/Pearl, right? In retrospect, I remember the least from that Gen.
I'm looking forward to X and Y! I'm getting X because my friend is getting Y, I believe. :D
