Hey there. I found you in the Humber College community and just wanted to ask you something as you're in the same program (Journalism) as I am. For the first year in Interviewing Skills, what did you do? Did you have in class interviews or anything like that? I have Carey French as my teacher and I'm kind of scared of him at the moment.. lol but yea.. just wanted to know what that class was all about. Have you or anyone you know taken Intro to Philosophy? And if so can you tell me the philosopher's discussed/studied. I'm trying to prepare myself before classes start. =P Thanks for the help.
Don't really do all that much. You'll do one big interview with a working journalist and a couple of note taking tests. There are also a couple of in-class things where people get up and mock-interview, but those are by volunteers.
Don't be too afraid of Carey, he's not that bad. As long as you go to class (a couple tests are surprise and the in-class demos are mandatory to attend - even if you're not one of the demonstrators) and do the work, you'll be fine.
And sorry, but I don't think we even had the option of philosphy as one of ours. So I couldn't tell ya about that.
