Doctor Wily,

How have you been? According to the calendar last Sunday was Father's Day and, seeing as how I've been here at Zenithia for several months already, I felt it was appropriate to contact you after so long. While you are naturally not our biological father, as our creator you nevertheless fill the role quite nicely. I'm only sorry I was not there to have made you breakfast. Surely Air or perhaps Heat and Wood took that responsibility? Surely without disastrous results in the latter case?

I hope things have been going well around Wily Castle in my absence. Relatively speaking, Zenithia has proven to be a mild-mannered school filled with (again, relatively speaking) [derisive snort as he types this] mild-mannered individuals. There has been some destruction, mostly of property although I have my suspicions that there is much more fighting occurring behind the scenes than the school's blogging system lets on. You may be interested to know that the responsible parties are, from what I have gathered, robots of strikingly familiar design. Supposedly they are from the future; it seems to be the only viable explanation, since I have never seen their models before yet one of them explicitly informed me that he is formally known as Megaman X. Indeed he bears an uncanny resemblance to the original, not surprising given his creator was the very same Doctor Light. A certain DRN 067 has also taken up residence here; she is alternatively known as Splashwoman. I am unsure as to the origins of the others.

Rest assured I will continue observing them, as best I can considering their equally hostile and placid, if reserved natures. There is only so much I can do since...as you know, I am a teacher here. But perhaps that will work to my advantage should I require their documented background information; one of the robots, a little more similar in design to the DWNs, also has a habit of picking fights and I suppose it's only a matter of time before the faculty is dragged into one of their skirmishes. It doesn't help the matter that one of my colleagues teaches Swordsmanship and seems to encourage sparring... [and an audible sigh as he types this] I will admit, suppressing the urge is quite the task. Sooner or later I may very well go looking for an excuse to follow suit, in accordance with my nature. Of course, I wouldn't have it any other way.

You can expect updates as appropriate information comes to light.

Please give my regards to my brothers, and do try to remember not to overwork yourself. Our primary function is, after all, to work in your stead.

--------

Father's Day has come and gone. I'm surprised no one has mentioned it. There is something a little ironic about a robot pointing this fact out; perhaps people tend to consider the larger holidays more noteworthy.

Not to complain. It's clear there are those among us who would rather not delve into the subject of familial relationships due to personal reason, and I respect that. Of course, it doesn't mean you have to be a Grumpy Gus about it. You know who you are :)
