Hola hola!
[Character Name]: Setsuna F. Seiei
[Canon]: Mobile Suit Gundam 00
[Point in Canon]: After the activation of the 00 in Season 2 Episode 2.
[Age]: 21
[Gender]: Male
[Sexual Orientation]: Gundamsexual. Well, probably Heterosexual but only very rarely. And not if you're Nena Trinity.
[Eye Color]: Dull brownish red
[Hair Color]: Black
[Height]: 175 cm
[Clothing]: Likes to wear light, desert-style clothing, or his Celestial Being uniform. Favorite color is blue, clothes are often blue. Often seeing wearing a scarf - whether or not it's because he's cold is up for debate.
[Background]: Soran Ibrahim was born in the Kurdish Republic in 2291, and lived a rather average and uneventful life with his parents until a man named Ali Al-Saachez came to the region. Ali's talk of God and duty was extremely persuasive to the young Soran and his peers, and as the final test of loyalty to prove his devotion to the cause, Soran and the other children murdered their own parents. Soran became a child soldier in Ali Al-Saachez's terrorist organization, the KPSA, in the war between the Kurdish Republic and the neighboring Kingdom of Azadistan - but then, Al-Saachez abandoned the children, leaving them to die. In 2301, when he was 10, Soran would also have been killed like his peers if not for the miraculous intervention of an angelic figure: the 0 Gundam, the prototype mobile suit of the group that called itself Celestial Being.
Soran himself would be recruited into Celestial Being's ranks at the age of 14, and despite his youth found himself in the cockpit of the GN-001, Gundam Exia. In 2307, now 16, Soran - who had taken on the codename Setsuna F. Seiei - took part in Celestial Being's interventions as a Gundam Meister, to pursue the goal of the permanent eradication of war. Celestial Being's fortunes went downhill, and Setsuna barely had time to mourn the loss of his mentor figure Lockon Stratos when he himself almost died trading finishing blows with Union ace pilot Graham Aker.
Still, Setsuna survived his fight with Graham, and over the next four years made patchwork repairs to the damaged Exia, staying underground as the three powers gave way to the global Federation. As the shadowy group known as A-LAWS came to power and began brutally suppressing anti-Federation sentiment, Setsuna stymied them behind the scenes, eventually culminating in a solo rescue operation at their forced labor penal colony, Proud. At Proud, he was reunited with not just his former neighbor Saji Crossroad, but also the resurgent Celestial Being; though the patchwork Exia was finally damaged beyond repair in that encounter with A-LAWS, Setsuna was given a new mobile suit to pilot - the first Fourth Generation Gundam: GN-0000, the 00 Gundam.
[Personality]: As one might expect, Setsuna's violent childhood has been pivotal in shaping how he views the world. Setsuna prefers the direct approach; he has little patience for beating around the bush or negotiation, believing that in matters of warfare, diplomacy and traditional politics merely prolong suffering for people who were caught in the fighting like he had experienced. He can be very straightforward and blunt as a result, though his belief that fighting is the only real way to resolve conflict (as in warfare) doesn't apply to face-to-face, personal relationships.
Setsuna is usually taciturn and reserved, which can be misinterpreted as cold emotionlessness. In fact, Setsuna actually has a brash hotheaded streak, and has been known to let his emotions occasionally get the better of him. This is particularly notable as far as his desire to "become Gundam" - that is, to become the embodiment of the eradication of warfare - is concerned. Whether in the cockpit of a Mobile Suit or outside of it, Setsuna is aware that he has abilities other people do not, and desperately wants to protect people and save people caught in fighting much like he himself was saved by the 0 Gundam. Over the four years since the last battle of Celestial Being, Setsuna has learned to control this brashness more effectively, though he can still be somewhat impulsive.
He is naturally quiet and tends to keep to himself, so even if he is acting on emotion and impulse, it doesn't always come across as such. Deep down, Setsuna truly is an idealist, though he tends to show it in odd ways.
[Specialties/Abilities]: Over the years, Setsuna's become quite a good pilot, though that isn't much use in a world without Mobile Suits. Setsuna's life has been that of a soldier since he was seven or eight, and he's very skilled in combat, whether it's with a knife or a gun (or a Gundam). Since returning to Celestial Being, Setsuna's taken on more of a leadership role as well, though he's not quite a natural commander yet.
[Affection]: Setsuna is not a very affectionate person. In fact, he's been known to punch people for unwanted affection ... well, one person. And to be fair, she was kind of a bitch anyway.
[Fighting]: Other people can certainly try and fight Setsuna. He's pretty handy in a fight, particularly with firearms (he's gotten better over the last four years) and knife-fighting, which is his specialty outside a giant robot. He'll rarely make the first move, unless it's to protect someone he views as helpless or in need of saving.
[Other Facts]: Setsuna is Gundam. Nobody knows what the 'F.' in his name stands for. He always uses it when introducing himself (or even just saying his name), but has never said what it means... so it probably stands for "Fucking." "I'm Setsuna Fucking Seiei. Who the fuck are you?"
