Pretty much anything Aimee Mann has ever done, though I have a soft spot for the Magnolia soundtrack.

Ditto Dar Wiliams, but I think Mortal City is some of her best work, along with The Green World.

They Might Be Giants' Flood.

I'll get back to you if I think of any more :)

Dar Wiliams's "Mortal City" is lovely. I quite like it.

I'll get back to you if I think of any more :)
Cool, thanks. :D

Whoa -- GMTA, both on asking for DL requests and the Afro-Celt Sound System. (I DLed tons of their stuff over the weekend.)

I recommend:

"Gorecki" by Lamb
"Wind" by Soulstice
"A Case of You" by Joni Mitchell
anything you can find by the drummer Guem

It still surprises me that even after having hung around here as long as I have, there are terms and abbreviations I'm still not familiar with. What's GMTA mean?

Anything by onelinedrawing, but specifically "Tricky," "Crush on Everyone," and his cover of "Be Quiet and Drive."

Or, if that's too emo, check out his bands Far and New End Original.

And even if you think all that sucks, if you ever get a chance to see him live, go, because he's amazing.

Other bands I currently dig hard: Sleater-Kinney, Head Automatica, The Shins.
