well i have offically commited myself to my decision to join the military(airforce). its a huge step for me. i feel like im going to be an organ ripped from its cozy body and placed into another very cold prickly one where i wont have much room to exist on my own ( Read more... )

Ok I dont know who you are or who your friend is but I know from personal knowledge that that's how your experiance is suppose to be in basic training. Your suppose to basically go through the worse conditions possible because you have to be prepared for IF you do get shipped off to go to war to be able to handle it because the conditions of war will not be all rainbows and butterflies. Like I said before I dont know who your friend is and I cant say whether or not he was a strong person but in order to be in a military service and especially in an infintry (s/p) unit you HAVE to be strong and be able to handle not talking to your family for acouple of weeks, and not eating for some days, and have to do alot of exercise/work over and over again because your "team mates" might not be able to handle it in war and you need to be prepared to carry there weight. Im extremely sorry your friend had to go to such lengths to get out of something he thought was going to be easier then it was but just because he wasnt able to handle it doesnt ( ... )
