Am I missing something?

I just saw the film for a second time and plan to go again tomorrow (yeah, I pretty much loved it), but there's something that's been bothering me that many people are adamant is in the film.

I was reading somewhere that it wasn't the monster that dropped from the sky but a satellite that happened to stir the monster from the depths of the ocean.

I saw the Dharma Initiatve logo!
At least - that is what it looked like. The VERY FIRST of the movie, when you just see the screen with the goverment offical stuff - right when it starts it was in the lower right hand part of the screen.

i've read on other sites that its supposed to be a satellite falling into the water... but where is the proof of that

when you see the shot of the water with a yacht ,,, look close to the upper left side of the yacht,, something hits the water....that is where it is..

Well, obviously there is proof of the thing falling, what I meant was where is the proof that it was a SATELLITE? The object is too small and moves too fast to see clearly, so there is not proof from visuals in the movie itself. I read somewhere that JJ Abrams himself said it was a satellite, but I cannot find any site that has this documented.
