I think it's funny as hell that there are people who are all pissed off and disappointed at the outcome of 033102. I never promised anyone anything. All I did was throw a number out there. Cryptic? Sure. But, you know, it did exactly what I hoped it would. People just started passing it along, and eventually I got the buzz I wanted

Actually, I was hoping for the biggest anti-climax possible: nothing happens. I was hoping everybody would notice it was 03/31/02 and start asking questions about it and you'd tell them it meant nothing. But I'm an asshole. I suspected from nearly the beginning of the hype that it was actually the return of billliam and fuck anyone who's dissapointed.

Seriously, nothing was promised. It was just a string of numbers everyone assumed was a date, and nothing more. "Have patience, all will be revealed" doesn't promise when or what the revelation will be. I jumped on the bandwagon very early because, for me, helping create the buzz was all I cared about. If you tell two people, and they tell two people, and so on, and so on, it infects hundreds. Watching the hype grow was great. That, and some of the images were hilarious. Tell a joke, make someone laugh, that's all that matters. If they're ungrateful because you make them laugh, then something is very wrong with them.
