Trowa hears noises from inside the bathroom, enters the bedroom to investigate, and sees Quatre and Wufei hugging on the bed. He backs away quietly, but then breaks into a run as soon as he is in the living room and unthinkingly lets the apartment door slam close by itself as he dashes out, loud enough to be heard. He decides Quatre's empathy wouldn't have picked him up at such a situation and thinks neither pilot will know he was there.
