1. <33333 2. If you lived close to me I would throw my pile of comic books at you and then some. I dunno what exactly your tastes are but I suspect you would enjoy "Transmetropolitan". It's nothing like "Watchmen", but it's a crazy-ass vaguely outrageous depiction of the future with lots of swearing and pontificating and ranting and hilarities. It's super fun but also incredibly awesome. I could probably rant about comics for about thirty million pages but woohoo! I am glad you are wanting to read lots more western comic books. 3. I'm-a gonna go comment on it now.
1. 2. Oh yesss well!! I don't know, for the longest time I've been loath to approach anything but um.... indie comics (tomine, clowes) . And not that that's a bad thing but asldfjasd there are certainly good things about other comics.
It's interesting because even though japanese and western comics are basically the same medium, the pacing and the page layout are really different. The way you read them is so completely different (well I'm generalizing here errrgh. but like. yeah kind of.)
I'll try to check them out \=A=/ (the joys of the internet). I might have mentioned this, but If you ever get the chance, you should look into Urasawa Naoki's work ( Monster, 20th Century Boys). They are REALLY, REALLY good. (cough) onemanga.com/monster (cough)
