It was my understanding that rutile needles were titanium oxide. Was I confused or can they also be out of that?

You are correct, I called the rutile "titanium chrystals" for the masses, not expecting the occasional "...geology major aka geek..." to drop by. Rutile is an oxide of titanium - actually, a dioxide. Chemical TiO2. Rock on. (so to speak)

Cool...I did retain knowledge from my gems and gemstones class. We were learning about stars and cat's eyes which are caused by rutile needles as I am sure you know. *grin* Star Sapphires are really pretty.

Do you sell jewelry? Because it's very nice, and I want some.
