Since I haven't seen many people post about this publicly, I thought it was about time for me to. Does that even make any sense, lol I'm not sure, but here it is anyway~
You don't know me and I'm kinda new to LJ, but I got this link from the concert page on Last.fm, so I thought I'd read your review! ^w^
Wow, I'm getting such good memories from reading this! The concert was really amazing, I can't believe people started turning up at 10 am! I would have loved to be near the front but since I could only get into London for about 3:30 pm, I had no chance...
I thought the gender split of the line was kinda annoying... the guys' one went way faster, and since I was with another girl it might have contributed to us ending up near the front behind a lot of tall guys. XD
OMG I'm so relieved to read that someone else was crying during part of it. XD I felt so silly but as she started singing Passion and Sakura Drops I just couldn't help it, she was just right there and singing all these Japanese songs that I love so much. I was so excited when I read the setlist and saw that she would be singing Japanese songs, I mean I love her American stuff too but I feel like I grew so much while listening to these
( ... )
It went really fast right?? I wish it could have been longer... but I really can't ask for more, she did like 20 songs.
I know exactly what you mean. I love her American stuff, some of my favourite songs are on Exodus and TITO, but I grew up with her Japanese stuff and its her Japanese stuff that I turn to when I'm down. Her music just speaks to me. I always liken it to the film love actually (I don't know if you've seen that) but when the prime ministers sister is like "she taught your cold english wife to feel" thats sort of how it is with Hikki for me.
Yeah I hated the gender split thing; and especially the female bodyguard with the blonde hair >.> At least by the time they got to you it was a little organised right? At the front it was utter confusion. We didn't even know it was gender split. The male guard actually did everything for my sister and then the blonde guard was like NO I HAVE TO DO THAT and did my sister all over again. It was ridiculous >.>
Found this from last.fm, I was there that night... I've been waiting to see her in person since she started out as Cubic U (I'll leave you to guess my age! :P), but I agree... possibly the sweetest person with the way she was so, well.. personal. No 'diva' act, no strops, just pure fun and admiration for her fans.
By the way? Yes, your sister was crazy for sitting out for that long... but I would have been there too had I the chance!
wow since cubic u?? that puts my 8years to shame ._. I was talking with a friend today and she was saying how she loved the banter. She just seemed so natural, which I loved.
I think a few may have, especially if they had known other people were doing it. There's regularly a group of like 10 for the jrock gigs here in London, which my sister is a part of, so she's quite used to it. She was kind of disappointed that noone else really did; I had to explain to her that Hikki's fans are so diverse (plus older than your average jrock fan) so we have a whole range of other commitments.
