The Good Times are Killing Me

Usually I find it hard to sit down and type an entry simply because I rather go to bed, but tonight it's really hard because I much rather dance. Today was so awesome that until just now I had completely forgotten I had a two hour English exam this morning; truthfully that exam was pretty awesome too. More about everything after the jump:

I'm going to start off by saying thattoday, instead of writing his usual 10 pages or so, Darren Shan went and saw one of my favorite bands, Director, in concert. That's just beyond awesome; yet somehow I still feel my day might have been better than his.

It started out with English Paper 2. Now, normally I would not enjoy taking this test, but once I read the prompt I was in heaven--it was the same question we had answered for practice in Mrs. Cooper's class a week ago. Not only did I write 8 pages, but they were 8 well structured, focused, and supported pages. That was hardly as traumatic as it could have been.

After that and some well-needed pole climbing, Boris, Ryan, Alicia, and I all went to the mall for some well-needed shopping. I bought an awesome tie that certainly didn't cost me $45 and a shirt and pair of pants that definitely didn't cost me an extra $60. But it was good times. I told Ryan and Alica that Amy was off in New Jersey and they jokingly assumed she was seeing My Chemical Romance--little did they know, they were completely right.

After buying clothes I came home and watched last week's Lost. I'm so glad the show is finally back on track. This episode had some major revelations and almost no new questions. This week's podcast (yes, the show is finally good enough again to listen to the producers babble for 40 minutes) promised that Walt or Michael would be back in the Season Finale. I can't believe I'm finally excited about this show again. I'd post my predictions, but Amy hasn't watched it yet.

Anyways, after that came the real fun--the Beta Chi Banquet. Normally this wouldn't be that exciting, but after being together with people for four years, things are pretty loose. I danced more than I ever have in my life. It was soo much fun. If you all haven't noticed, I like being the center of attention, or at least a center of attention :P. I was literally drenched in sweat by the end of the night. I was going to the DJ and request Daft Punk, but then he immediately played "One More Time" and a remix of "Technologic." Dancing is much more fun when you know all the songs. Not to mention they played "White and Nerdy;" omg, that was the best thing ever.

Hm. Some dancing highlights include Lori actually being good at dancing; dancing with Chu, Ryan, Nathan, Joe, Boris, and Mikey (who reeked of alcohol); almost starting a mosh pit with Chu until we got bitched at; making Lori dance with Josh; dancing with lots of other random, and not so random, people; and actually having a blast at a school function.

After that, Ryan and I left together (since our others couldn't be there, we had to console each other) and eventually departed home. Good times...

Have you ever made a really good mix tape (CD), that you just can't pull yourself away from? It makes it so much harder to get out of the car when you just want to listen to it. Anyways, my mix tape consisted of Interpol, Muse, and Modest Mouse, and it (and tonight's dance) have made me sooo much more excited for Lollapalooza.

Pictures will be added once I get them~

P.S. Points if you get both the title and the lj-cut references.
