I have come to the conclusion that what my father has told me is a lie. Common sense doesn't always pay. Sure, you could use it and in the future have a nice house, car, job, and family. In other words be the norm. Or you could not use it and end up with a treehouse, some blankets, and a pet woodchuck. So, in essence, being acutely individualistic.

Heh, I really know what you're talking about, though. My dad wants me to get a steady job as a physical therapist or something, but I just don't see that with me. I'm struggling, because I don't want to just follow the normal path.
The normal path is boring, but... eh, I don't know.
