For some years now I have had a strange urge to visit Plänterwald, Spreepark, the abandoned amusement park on the edge of Berlin. For some reason a disused overgrown park with toppled dinosaurs has a strong attraction - finally, I'm going!!! Hopefully - I know it has a high fence round it, supposedly not to be entered but we'll see

THe pics of the Light Festival are fantastic...
Are you used now driving on the " right " side of the road...either by car or bike :D

We don't have cars now, cycling is fun and I usually manage to stay on the right side if the road! When we had the V cycle tour round Berlin I couldn't cycle on the right at all - its getting better!

The weather might change rather fast, like from yesterday to today. Right now I'm thinking of where to go this afternoon, a lookout of some kind.
Did you see the 'Gärten der Welt' when you were in Marzahn? You should go there in spring. It's beautiful.

I haven't seen the Garten der Welt, I read a bit about it last week and it sounds good. Will certainly go there in spring.
We went to Planterwald today, that place is amazing, I'd love to stay there all day wandering and taking photos! Six of us went together and got through the fence like you said, quite easily. But lots of other people saw us and also started wandering around, families with young children too. We noticed some workmen at one side of the park so avoided that area. We almost went everywhere but someone then spotted a police vehicle near the perimiter fence and then we heard very loud dog barking, so just ran and got over the fence quickly! Surely the police wouldn't bother and set dogs running loose, it would have been quite bad for the people walking around with children.

I especially like the view of the Wuhlheide stage from the Glockenturm. The contrast of fall foliage with the white of the stage cover.... or maybe it's just that I have such a soft spot for that venue ;-)
I agree with your Festival of Light comment. Many of the displays could have been more effective.
And Schloss Dammsmühle is excellent, the pics with the lake reflection are my faves. =D

Marzahn and Hellersdorf sound interesting, I do like that kind of architecture. I went to the kino in Hellersdorf once to see Achtung Wir Kommen, but it was really late at night and I didn't see any of the town.
I agree about the lights on the Berliner Dom. Especially the patchwork pattern. It's kind of cool to look at, but it doesn't seem to fit. That's such a great building, they should've done something better.

Marzahn and Hellersdorf are interesting, the architecture intrigueing, it looks impressive looking down a long road and seeing it go on for ages.
Today has been so sunny, its been beautiful walking round the city.
