Fic for akintay

Nov 23, 2008 13:32

I know, I know... I'm overwhelmed myself. 2 fics in one week - now if that's not a step up! Kidding. This is a birthday fic for akintay which she kindly allowed me to share with everyone else. Cross-posted to bjfic & wet_dreams4anna (so, no, that wasn't one shot of vodka too many last night ;)).

Title: Making Justin Smile
Rating: PG-13 for language
Author: 0corona0
Summary: Gapfiller for 117. How does Brian react to Justin’s plea for protection?
Author's Notes: Herzlichen Glückwünsch und alles, alles Gute zum Geburtstag, Anna! :D I hope you have a most awesome birthday and that I can contribute something to it with this fic. There's so much to say for a birthday that I will constrain myself and add only one wish to the many you've already received: Never loose faith in ridiculous romance. ;)

“Not as long as I’ve got you to protect me.”

Brian could not forget the kid’s -- Justin’s words. They were still outside, just watching the street filled with wet, muddy snow, the rough sound of closing doors and the clouded winter sky. It was by no means romantic... or was it?

The kid was huddled in his arm, obviously not at all disconcerted with all the awkward implications of their embrace. He seemed as comfortable as Brian felt at the prospect of just keeping him right here for the rest of... the night.

The need to protect his blond had suddenly become intense, so intense that Brian’s second arm went around the slender frame too, pulling him closer until they were facing each other. One look into those blue eyes showed Brian that the extent of the kid’s trust was endless. He actually did believe that Brian could and would protect him.

I can’t! I won’t! Don't rely on me -- there’s plenty of others, your mommy or Debbie or even Mikey. Rely on them.

For they won’t disappoint you.

But it was too late already. Brian’s hand caressed the kid’s cheek and then he did not look into the pale face anymore, but instead hugged him so tightly towards his chest that the kid must have felt his frantic heartbeat.

The joint dropped into the snow when Brian closed his eyes and deeply breathed in Justin’s very own scent. He appreciated it even more than his personal Armani Acqua di Gio, after all the best perfume he had ever tried.

Calm the fuck down. The kid can take care of himself.

But as “the kid” lifted himself up onto his tiptoes to even reach Brian and both of his hands grabbed the fabric of the leatherjacket as if holding on to a life belt, Brian realised that he still wanted to protect him. He did not want to leave it up to the blond to defend himself against someone like Chris Hobbs. Or someone like his asshole principle. Or even someone like his father...

So Brian had an answer for the kid -- for Justin -- as the first snowflakes started falling, fresh and white and glittering:

“Yeah.”
