I was doing something else and reloaded my f-page without even thinking about it: no need to say I dropped EVERYTHING as soon as I saw Part 3 was up! : DDDDDD

I LOVED the moment when Arthur could feel the ghosty caress of a kiss, because seriously, that's just awwwwwww and heartbreaking at the same time! And I can't believe how IC Gwaine and Elyan are, though we don't know them so well in the show itself yet! Arthur's POV is just FANTASTIC, all noble and tortured and FUCKING NOBLE!

I almost felt bad for writing the ghosty kiss because it's soooo sappy, but then I thought ... COME ON! THIS IS MERLIN AND ARTHUR! THE SLASH-DRAGON SAID SO! How can I resist?

You made my DAY with this comment! :D I put so much fucking effort into trying to get these two right and it was bloody difficult so it's so rewarding to know I got it right!! (Btw., I totally ship Elyan/Gwaine now. You'll see why in the next part (wchih I'm about to post), I made an allusion or two about them, lol!)

GO NOBLE ARTHUR! I love him for that, for all his nobleness and bravery and NOBLENESS, ever since he drunk that cup in the Labyrinth of G I've loved him for it!

Loved how Arthur kept going on, no matter what. Loved that Gwaine finally got him to give up Merlin so that he could walk better. Great job.

Thank you so much. :) I figured Gwaine would do anything to get Arthur to hand over Merlin ... and not primarily for Arthur's sake! (If I wasn't so into Arthur/Merlin, I'd be a hell of a Gwaine/Merlin shipper -- hell, I am a Gwaine/Merlin shipper! As long as it can somehow coexist with Arthur/Merlin, lol!)

Yeah, so far they haven't had much opportunity to interact, that's true. Well, I promise you that I'll get there! It's going to be after a bit of a built-up, there's a couple of secrets that are not out yet, but I'll get there. (It's also the part I'm most nervous about -- I believe it's absolutely essential for any Merlin-fic to get the interaction between the two of them right. It's the core of the show, in a way, isn't it?)

I can also promise you that you'll be continuing to want to smish Arthur, hehe ... I'm so evil it's unreal. I should side with Morgana!

Utterly beautiful. I loved Arthur's torn and tortured thoughts of almost self-hate and failure yet his determination to redeem himself (even if through slightly misquided self-punishment and pain).
And how it was Gwaine's uncharacteristic show of respect (how ironic that now Arthur has it he doesn't think he's worthy of it) that finally makes Arthur relinquish his hold on Merlin.

Yeeeaaah, Arthur may or may not continue to do a couple of misguided things. *pets him* It's just really important to me to show how bloody fucked up he must be at this point. I mean -- his sister has taken over his kingdom, his father is going to get killed, his people are in mortal danger -- it can't get much worse, can it? Unless of course if he found out about Merlin's secret ... HMMM!

It took me a long time to decide whether or not Gwaine should call Arthur "mylord" or not, because under usual circumstances he obviously wouldn't do it. But I believe Gwaine would have done anything to get Arthur to hand over Merlin, and not primarily for Arthur's sake! Merlin and Gwaine are very close friends after all.

Of course, we've seen Arthur grow over the past couple of seasons, but I want to push him further. I feel like "The Coming of Arthur" should be a bit like A Coming of Age sort of thing, showing

Yippieh! I love to keep people on the edges of their seat! (Especially now -- everytime a fanfic of mine progresses, as I post more and more chapters, I feel like every single one is more boring than the previous one. I know, fucking artists and their self-confidence issues ;) -- so it's good to know that it's still working. Thank you so much! :)
