opinion on war I watched Michael Moore on Conan O'Brian the other night, and I think he said it best when he made this point: we, as a country, should never go to war unless we are being attacked by the country we are thinking about going to war with. we need to honor the men and women who have sacrificed to protect us and our freedom. we are not honoring them by putting their lives in danger for just any old reason. Conan made a comment that the Iraqis can't agree on anything and Moore said this, "well they've agreed on one thing, and that's killing american soldiers", which i thought was pretty hard hitting. i understand that he's not talking about iraqi civilians, he's talking about the people in power...the government...various terrorist organizations...soldiers.
opinion on drugs I don't do them. I have no desire to do them because I've seen what horrible things they can do. I, for the most part, am not totally against other people doing them, because I believe in the freedom of personal choice, but I just don't understand why people would want to do harm to their bodies and possibly to others. Also, I think when someone does drugs, in a lot of cases it's a sign of insecurity and self-loathing, which is just sad.
opinion on abortion I'm pro-choice. Abortion is scary, and I would never get one, but this is a feminist issue. The fact of the matter is, it's a woman's body, a woman's choice, and that's it.
opinion on gay marriage Totally for it. Absolutely. There's a lot I could say about this, but I'm not going to. I'm just going to say that I support it one-hundred percent.
opinion on religion Too many rules and petty disagreements. I'm a Christian, but to me it's not a religion, it's a relationship. A complicated one, but an intense and rewarding one that I wouldn't give up for anything. I am completely open and accepting when it comes to other people's religions, though, or lack thereof. In other words, I don't think the Dalai Llama is going to hell just because he doesn't preach the gospel.
opinion on hilary duff I used to completely hate everything about her, but recently I read somewhere that she's a feminist and some other stuff that made me think "hmm...maybe she is semi-okay".
