Well the good news is it looks like I'll be able to replace most of my DJ equipment through insurance. I have backups of all my music so I'm good there as well. I should be up and spinning within the week ( Read more... )

Very good news about your equipment. :) I am extra excited to spin again with you. :)

I can't imagine they're going to try and rebuild your car. Wouldn't that make the process 10 times longer? Also, are they covering a rental car for you? What a hassle... :(

I am so happy to hear that you had backups of all your music!

I hope the insurance deal goes through just like you want it to. I hate to ask, for fear of sounding morbid, but do you have pictures? What did you think when you saw your beloved car in pieces? Was it murdurous blind fury, or something else? I know nothing about chop shops, so I am curious about how fast they moved, especially considering that you had LoJack. Thank goodness for that. I hope your horrible, terible, awful ordeal prevented pothers from suffering the same fate because they were stupid and hit a LoJacked car.

Actually I was kinda impressed. To have taken the car apart that quickly and it looks like they didn't strip much either. No photos that I can have, sorry. They are for the police and insurance.

Sad part is that they guys they caught were released as they had no prior record, among other things. The car was recovered in a upscale apartment complex in a private car port garage. A family of 4 with 2 little kids live there. The father has a Subaru WRX as well and is a tuner. They were taking my engine apart for the parts for their cars. WTF...

So they will be putting it back together since they have most of the parts and things look in good condition. New paint job and the works. The car is worth a lot so the work to rebuild it cost much less than replacing the car. So this is good news really.

All in all I've decided to sell the car once everything is set right and it's back to it's original condition or better. I also don't want to have to go through this again.
