Title: Paying DUES; Gods!verse drabbles
Pairings: Multiple
Genre: Fantasy, slight angst
Ratings: PG- R
Summary: Various drabbles of SJ (plus DBSK cameos) as gods.
A/N: This was supposed to be long fic; but it had potential to be time-consuming and energy depleting, so I decided against it, turned it into a bunch of drabbles instead. Basically, the boys as gods (somewhat Greek I guess). I don’t think they make sense, but I didn’t want to just dump them.
“In your high honor all over my skin that is art splattered and for everything that happened this part mattered; I tattooed your name on my tongue and my heart shattered.”
1. PG-13, Hankyung literally rips Heechul’s heart out, Siwon and Eeteuk save him. 1239 words.
A loud clap of thunder sounded and the sky lit up in a dangerous explosion of colour.
The storm rolled treacherously outside and jungsu concluded something must be seriously wrong with one of the major gods. He sought them out spiritually while thinking furiously and in a heartbeat; teleported himself to outside Heechul's temple.
"Something is very wrong." he whispered to Siwon who was already standing outside, worry creasing his face.
"Judging from the sky; I’d say there's a major imbalance and I can't reach him at all. Hyung, lend me your hand."
Heechul had put a shield-charm upon his abode and it could not be breached even with Siwon's power.
With Jungsu's power they forced open a tiny space through the shield and apparated straight to the altar, where the sight they saw horrified them.
Jungsu shook his head frantically.
"Oh no."
"Heavens. Heechul, are you alright!"
The beautiful god was levitating; rotating madly half suspended in air with an eerie glow surrounding him. Thunder sounded outside.
"Where’s Hankyung?"
Suddenly, the spinning stopped but the temple begin to shake violently like it was about to collapse upon itself.
"Just as my heart has been taken, may they all be eternally incomplete. Devoid- fallen..."
The bare whisper left Heechul’s lips and Jungsu gasped.
The storm outside -ever vicious- wailed even louder, as if in agreement of the wrong that had befallen upon the god who had uttered the irreversible curse.
He was about to continue when Siwon pulled the immortal close to him and covered his mouth.
This was not happening.
Trembling slightly-his heart pounding worse than if he were on a battlefield- he uttered a counter curse,
"Let them be unbroken, merely half of a whole. May they be redeemed once more when what was lost is found again."
it was at these words that Heechul fell from his levitation- as if gravity had instantly returned to the room; unconscious, into Jungsu’s arms. Jungsu cradled the god in his arms and looked to Siwon, his face frozen in pure horror.
"I-It really is..."
Siwon looked at the older grimly.
"His heart has been removed."
Heechul’s eyes flashed open, sudden and without any warning. He turned and glared at the other primal source of power in his bedchamber.
“You're a fucking saint, Siwon." he spat, viciously as he feebly tried to sit up. Siwon just silently drew him close; wrapped an arm around his waist and lightly stroked his hair as he would a stray kitten. It was humbling to see another major god reduced to only a tenth of his power.
"You were wrong, Hyung. Do you know what you've done?"
Heechul simply rested his head against the other god's collarbones; eyes shut.
"I’m really sorry, Hyung." He said.
Sorry for what you have done and what has been done to you.
“Where’s Eeteuk?”
“He was here for the past decade; he said he’ll be out explaining what’s happening. Every god will want an explanation.”
“They will, won’t they?”
Heechul’s eyes remained closed but he fisted a hand in Siwon’s robes.
Heechul had his weaknesses, yet he was anything but stupid. The moment the words left his mouth; even he had regretted them, for he had just cursed his entire race into oblivion.
“They’ve come by. I’ve tried to explain what happened to our Seconds as the effects are manifesting by the moments.”
Heechul nodded tiredly; long black hair bobbing along.
“And…”
He turned to look at Siwon.
“And?”
“The effect is that everyone’s powers have been halved.”
He felt his heart stop for a moment.
“Even yours?”
“It’s a bit complicated hyung. My powers were drained maybe a quarter? I’m guessing the curse doesn’t affect Prima as much. You have another quarter of my original powers.”
Heechul gaped. No wonder he didn’t feel completely drained; he should be.
“Why did you do that?” He asked; a deathly quiet whisper.
“Do what?” Siwon looked slightly confused for a moment as he took in Heechul’s beautiful face contorted with anger.
“Give me your powers? Why would you even do something as stupid as that, Siwon-ah?”
Siwon’s eyes widened. It would have been comedic if they weren’t in a situation where the universe was literally falling apart. Outside, the storm continued to rage madly.
“Hyung. Why would you even ask such a question?”
Siwon was a pure soul.
From the very first day Heechul laid eyes upon him he knew. Despite being one of the Prima; a source god, Heechul’s equal, he was good and kind to everyone and basically let Heechul do whatever he liked and lord over him. Yet, he never expected the younger god to be willing to give up a quarter of his powers to revive him, especially in a situation where it was everyone for themselves and there were bound to be power struggles. And Siwon was god of war; he needed those powers as a security blanket.
A single tear ran down his cheek.
“Hyung. It’s nothing, don’t cry. Wait, Eeteuk hyung’s coming in.” Jungsu teleported in right next to Heechul and as he took in the younger man’s face, his eyes widened.
“Heechul-ah, why are you…crying?” He stroked his back gently, glaring at a beleaguered Siwon.
“Ask this stupid immortal here. Why would he give me his powers?”
Jungsu sighed as he continued rubbing circles on his back.
“I would too if I could.”
“Anyway. I went out to do some searching and explaining. The Seconds have accepted the curse.
“And… I found something that I guess belongs… to you.”
Heechul peered at what Eeteuk held out to him on his outstretched palm. It glittered bright despite the black gossamer it was wrapped in.
Heechul gave a broken laugh when he realized what it was.
“Guess Hankyung didn’t do that great a job of ripping my heartstone out huh.”
“Oh Heechul.” Jungsu stole a quick glance at him.
“What is it?” asked Siwon, trying to understand.
“Part of Heechul’s soul fragment. That’s also why he lost such a substantial amount of his power.”
“Can’t you just put it back into him then?”
Heechul burst into laughter; dark and bitter.
Siwon frowned.
“Isn’t that right? Eeteuk hyung has healing abilities; surely he can do something.”
“It doesn’t really work that way. “ Eeteuk sighed, melancholic.
“So what will you do with it? If you put it in that way; the fragment has an immense amount of power.”
“I’m going to make a shiori out of it.” Heechul mused decisively.
Of everything they expected him to say; that was probably the most unexpected.
“A Shiori?” they asked in unison; as they looked at Heechul.
Heechul raised an eyebrow.
“And why is that so surprising? You two have been urging me to get a servant anyway.” He demanded.
Why couldn’t he have a companion if he wanted one?
“So… a human one?” ventured Siwon.
Heechul pondered for a moment.
“Yes. A male I think.”
“You do know that it’ll be a ridiculously strong one though?”
Eeteuk gabbled, worried; but somehow, nothing could be worse than what had happening and was still happening.
“It’ll be ridiculously good-looking as well.” Heechul quipped, dropping his head onto the older god’s shoulder. A small semblance of a smile appeared on Eeteuk’s face; the first Siwon had witnessed since a whole decade.
Heechul seemed to be healing. If that was the case, maybe a pet would do him some good.
note: I lie, this is not a drabble D: basically, if you’re lost, prima=source gods=powerful dudes. Seconds are second tier gods. Shiori=doll/companion/servant idk. Um. Spoilers (except not really): I fully intended Heechul’s shiori to be Taemin.
2. Horella (Hochul? Yunho x Heechul) getting drunk together; being depressed together= almost burning down a city. Somewhat kyhd inspired. 363 words.
"Did you even think that's we'd end up like this?" asked Heechul with a strange smile on his face.
Yunho laughed, a bit buzzed with the sheer amount of intoxicating liquid in him.
"Sitting pathetically near a brook; both our pantheons falling apart? Can’t say i have, Hyung."
Yunho unconsciously conjured up a fireball in the palm of his hand; he stared at it thoughtfully only to have it scooped away by Heechul.
"I thought coming to you, I’d be cheered up. But you're as miserable."
"We can't help but be can we? I question why we end up like this everyday..."
The fireball in Heechul's hand burst into a bigger giant ball of flames at Yunho's outburst and the god just glared at the other before being entranced by the reds and oranges of the fire. It was beautiful; this destructive primal energy. If he were Yunho, he'd probably be a pyromaniac already.
Let everything burn to nothingness.
"Heechul-hyung, relax."
Yunho touched his shoulder gently.
The fireball had grown into this enormous destructive wildfire that was currently consuming half of the bamboo forest as it had fed on drunken negative energy from the two gods.
"Oops."
Yunho sighed but half-heartedly waved a hand to smite the fire.
“Remind me never to drink with you again; we’d cause the world to end by accident and Boa would kill us.”
Heechul gave a soft ‘pfft’ and they sat staring at the completely still brook in silence.
“Have you…” they started at the same moment.
Yunho laughed as Heechul lightly hit him in the arm.
“You go first.”
Heechul pursed his lips, looking marginally unsure. It was odd, the look a foreign one on his beautiful face.
“Have you spoken to Youngwoong?”
He thought he saw a flash of indiscernible emotion in Yunho’s eyes but it passed as soon as it appeared. Yunho let out a long breath, unclenching his jaw.
“No. What’s there to talk about?”
Heechul was silent.
“Our pantheon… will remain divided. You know what it’s like.”
Yunho winced as he saw Heechul bite his lip and absently rub at a spot on his chest.
“Here, have another bottle of soju.”
3. Heechul-centric, PG, the problem with immortality. 108 words.
The problem with being immortal was that one couldn't really die. Unlike humans who definitely died if their hearts were ripped out from their very core, gods couldn't. As much as Heechul enjoyed his godly status, sometimes though he really wished he could have disintegrated when his heart was torn out then. Unfortunately, disintegration only happened when the heartstone was splintered. But his wasn't; it was still in his hands. Why hadn't he just shattered the damn thing and be done with it?
Heechul moved a hand towards his chest and felt the void there, just as it had been for the past ten thousand years.
Damn him.
4. Teukchul, R, Heechul being a nymphomaniac. 250 words.
He lightly bit into his neck and thrusted hard. The other hissed; part pain part pleasure.
Jungsu (or Eeteuk as he was better known nowadays as) looked downwards at Heechul who simply smirked. The older scowled while biting back a moan.
He was close. Harder, he wanted to spit out. Instead,
"Anyone told you lately that you're insatiable?"
"Pleasure is desire fulfilled."
Eeteuk snorted before he peaked; went over the top with a loud mewl. Heechul followed soon after but with a much lower volume.
"Strike three and you're out, baby."
Heechul planted a soft kiss along his jaw and threaded his long fingers in Eeteuk’s shoulder length golden hair.
"I hate you nowadays; you're like a freaking nymphomaniac."
"If i might remind you hyung, I’m not being the girl here." Heechul smirked.
Eeteuk narrowed his eyes disapprovingly.
"No wonder Siwon's upped and left for the mortal realm since last week."
"I was tired of him anyway; i missed you."
"Playing with me you mean."
“Aish. What’s the difference?” he shrugged, tracing the lines of his abs.
Eeteuk fought the urge to smack his hand but instead got off Heechul’s lap and started picking up his robes that was previously hastily discarded on the marble floor.
Heechul raised an eyebrow.
“Taemin-ah is waiting to talk to you. I need to check on the Seconds as well- Siwon left something for them to do. Besides, I have no doubt that the temple will be in ruins by the time I return.”
5. Haesica(?), PG, fate’s a bitch.
"Is there no way this can be avoided?"
She looked a bit pained as she looked back towards him. Shaking her head slightly,
"I’m afraid not."
"You can, you're just scared to." he said accusingly.
"I’ve been here exactly a thousand summers before you, i know what i cannot do." she said calmly, but the fist clenched by her side indicated otherwise. He stared at her face, beautiful; even more so than any statue that was and could be sculpted of her.
