Hmmm I'm going to start off by saying sorry to Erin Hamel because this has to do with your grandfather...because he's my Represetative obviously. Anyways I called my representative John Lepper a few weeks ago to tell him that I didn't want him to support an amendment banning gay marriages. Furthermore, by establishing civil unions in the constitution, "with entirely the same rights and priledges" of marriage, you create the real possibility of a conflict betweenthis new constitutuional right to a civil union and religious liberty. If religious institutions fail to treat civil unions as equal to marriage they may very well suffer legal consequences. The sponsors of this amendment inadvertently failed to provide an exemption for religious institutions that would prevent a conflict from developing between constitutional protections for religious liberty and the proposed new constitutional civil union provisions.

SOOOOO NOT TRUE!!!! Seperation of church and state! This is about LEGAL marriage, NOT religious. Religions can not be legislated into honoring ANY marriage.
