Notifications... GONE???

Dec 27, 2009 23:23

It's amazing... all of a sudden, I noticed that I haven't been getting notifications on ANYONE'S journal updates except for about THREE OR FOUR people. And, because those three or four people were updating and I was getting those notices, I didn't pay much attention to those who HADN'T updated... until Christmas Day.
Funny thing... Christmas Day ( Read more... )

I think that most sites become slack around the holidays because nobody's minding the store. ff.net didn't issue notifications until Sunday; then my email was bombarded with tons of review/PMs/favorite/story alerts.

Some sites even shut down completely. The only thing that was operating at normal speed was facebook, and I barely know how to navigate the site. Hell, I just haven't bothered - truth be told. That's all I need is more internet crack.

You have a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year! My job (Honda) shuts down the last week of the year for Winter Shutdown so we get an extra paid vacation. YAAAAAAAAAAAY!! I love this time of the year!

Awwww, love the icon!!

Hope your Christmas was a GOOD one - although, obviously, with shutdown, you're loving the time off! MSK used to own a company that supplied the Big 3, so I'm well aware of the annual shutdown periods... that's when he used to DISAPPEAR, for weeks at a time, just before. Also when we used to get phone calls at home in the middle of the night from plant engineers who couldn't get their conveyors to work right!

I'm glad you're enjoying the holidays!!! I haven't gotten to the latest installment of my favorite Sess/Kag "crack" (Utopia), but I am promising myself that I'm gonna print it out, squirrel myself away in a room where no one can find me for a while, and savor every delicious word of it as SOON as I can!! I feel the need for some "shutdown" time myself!

Hope your New Year is EVERYTHING you could wish for and MOAR... I don't know too many other people who deserve it more than you, dear friend!! Take care, be SAFE & CAREFUL on New Year's Eve, and KEEP SMILING!!!!

UGH! That last chapter gave me a week long migraine. I swear that the next war scenes won't be that bad. I couldn't get it to flow right to save my life but finally I worked it out. What a pain!

The Binky pushed another short one shot out of my head but I'm trying to push it back in. It involves Sess, Hisa and a dirty diaper and even I'm grossed out by it. I'll see what comes of it.

Oh dear GAWD... if it grosses even YOU out, it must be a good one!!! You poor thing - that binky shit really did a number on you, didn't it?? LOL!

Eh, if it doesn't leave you alone, though, I think that's all the better for me and your other devoted readers. I mean, *I* could sure use some chuckles, potty humor notwithstanding! (*groan* yeah, that was bad, wasn't it?)

I'm just now 6 pages into the chapter and starting to appreciate the migraine it gave you. I can hardly wait to delve further for a full understanding. Catch ya later!

Thanks. Merry Christmas to you too. I don't really talk to anyone on here except you and a couple friends from high school, so if you don't hear from me, don't be surprised :P

REID!!!!!!!!!

HAPPY FREAKIN' NEW YEAR, kid. How's school going?? Knowing you, you're kicking academic butt and taking names as always. I will continue to keep fingers and assorted other appendages crossed that things are going well for you down in good ole FLA.

Thanks for stopping by... I'm flattered that you do so occasionally. Let's face it, not too many other kids your age would be stopping in to check on some old mom-type that they'd never even met! You have a good heart, young man, a very good heart.

Take care of yourself, stay WARM, and KEEP SMILING!!
