Cool! It looks like they've got a great plan for that money. Wouldn't it be nice if communities didn't have to jump through so many hoops to get funding for projects like that?

It's been ages since I've been up there. When I was growing up, every few years our family summer vacation would involve driving around Lake Superior. Good times :)

Yup, they are planning all their moves very carefully, and the money is going toward a terrific cause. Now if we can just generate that all-important interest on the part of the government - which controls the Corps of Engineers, who made the mess in the first place - we'll be able to halt and even somewhat reverse, the damage. *crossing fingers*

So you know the beauty that is Lake Superior first-hand, huh? LUCKY gal!! I so wish I could share it with everyone I know, but I just don't have the camera to do it justice, y'know? I love the lake and the area - I got incredibly lucky marrying MSK and being able to enjoy it every year. Yuppers, Great Lakes, good times for sure!

I love Lake Superior! We used to go camping on the North Shore fairly frequently and I had a friend who went to college in Marquette. I thought he was crazy for going to school in the middle of the boondocks, but when I went to visit him, I totally understood. Absolutely gorgeous there.

Someday I'll make it back up. Or at least to Door County or Mackinaw Island. The Great Lakes are something everyone should see.
