For me, it has nothing to do with religion. It is merely a quote off a 70's poster about the battle over marijuana at the time and a comment on how often stuff that is bad for you is legal and stuff that is neutral or ok for you is not.
It's more about the improper phrasing about legalizing marijuana. It is RE-LEGALIZING marijuana.
I believe that's known as "fighting on others' terms". If they bring god into a conversation to argue something, us atheists can put words into the mouth of the invisible man that lives in the sky, too.
It's not like it being illegal stops anyone from smoking it if they want to. At least if it's legal and taxed, there will be additional government revenue from it.
Personally, I don't care, as I have no desire to smoke the shit. But I know what kind of money's to be had there.
