I haven't clicked with two albums like I have with Metric's Fantasies and Pet Shop Boys' Yes in a very, very long time. They're kind of restoring my faith in pop music.

What's everyone else listening to?

Have you heard the Pet Shop Boys Mix/Dub of Love, Etc. It's SO much better than the album version!

Yeah, I have heard that. It is quite good. I prefer the album version actually, but that is a very good remix.

I think this is their best album since Nightlife, which was my previous favorite of theirs.

I *love* Nightlife. It's in my top 5 of their albums for sure. I think my personal favorite will always be Please though.

According to iTunes: The Rentals, Beyonce, and Mojave 3.

Ahh, I love Mojave 3. Have you heard Neil Halstead's solo albums? The first one, Sleeping on Roads is really good. I haven't heard the second yet though.

I haven't. Are they alt-country like Mojave 3?

They're actually *more* alt-country-ish than Mojave 3

The Presets...lots and lots of The Presets.

Good to hear about the new Pet Shop Boys - I'll definitely have to check that one out. Never really heard much by Metric, but the type of people who'd come in and buy it turned me off to trying (god damn that store for possibly killing music for me).

I've never been blown away by Metric, they've always seemed just a little too hipster-centric for me, like Broken Social Scene or Arcade Fire. But this album is really, really good.

I think I'm going to post a Best of Pet Shop Boys' lesser known songs at some point in the near future. They're by far one of my favorite all time bands. This album (and even the one before it, Fundamental) have really cemented that for me. You should definitely check it out.

Also, The Presets kick ass. Love them.

I never got into BSS or Metric. But Arcade Fire, I avoided for the same reason. They're the only one of those three that I legitimately think make compelling music. The other two just don't do anything for me.

Yeah, I've always had that perception of Metric as well, so I guess I'll give this one a try. Definitely going to check out the Pet Shop Boys stuff that you mentioned as my experience with them is vastly limited - they've been getting stuck in my head lately since the singles collection is in the player at work (I'm such a pathetic sucker for "Opportunities").

Annnnd, The Presets do kick major ass. I saw them (again) on Thursday. Stellar.

I've listened to a lot of Britney. As usual.

I'm on the verge of needing more music, though.
