Name: Estellise Sidos Heurassein (Estelle)
Series: Tales of Vesperia
Canon: OU
Age: 18
Timeline: after the group loses consciousness in the desert (before Yormgen)
History:
Estellise is a princess who was raised, unaware of how the world outside the castle walls looks like. Though, not entirely. Estellise loved reading books and thanks to them she gained a vast knowledge about the world. She started wishing she could see the world for herself, but she was not allowed to leave the castle.
One day a young knight named Flynn Scifo came to the castle and he quickly became Estellise’s good friend. And everything would be nice if not for the fact that one day the princess find out that her friend is in terrible danger. Trying to warn him from it, she decided to escape from the castle, but her attempted was almost stopped by the guards.
Almost. When Estellise told them that she must save Flynn, suddenly a black-haired young man came to her rescue. The man was Flynn’s childhood friend - Yuri Lowell, who so happened to be just escaping from the jail and as he heard that his friend’s in danger he decided to help out the girl and ask her about it, as well as just what kind of connection she had with Flynn.
Though, the two didn’t have much time to be discussing anything for the moment. First they ran to Flynn’s room, but, unfortunately, the knight was no longer there. Just as Estellise was starting to wonder if she is too late to tell Flynn about the danger, a mysterious man named Zagi appeared and attacked Yuri, mistaking him for Flynn. Estellise helped Yuri and both of them forced Zagi to retreat.
Afterwards, the princess told Yuri she has to leave the castle and head for Halure to warn Flynn. Yuri agreed to help her out and the two somehow managed to make their way out of the castle. But that wasn’t the end of the trouble. Soon some soldiers showed up and in the end both Yuri and Estelle had to ran away from the capital (Yuri was going to leave to chase after a certain thief). They were joined by Yuri’s faithful dog, Repede and after Yuri nicknamed Estellise “Estelle” the two set out to Halure.
As they got to Deidon hold, they learnt it was attacked by monsters and that the way to Halure was blocked. Luckily, Yuri found out that there’s another way they can get to Halure - and that was the Quoi woods.
But as they got to the woods Estelle started to panic, saying that she heard the forest is cursed. Later on the two found a strange Blastia (Blastias are technological devices used for various purposes) and because of it Estelle faints. Luckily she isn’t unconscious for too long and soon the two (+dog - always forgetting about Repede) made their way out of the woods... Almost. Right before they’re about to exit they’re attacked by a bog wielding a huge sword... who mistook them for monster. In the end boy’s weapon is broken in half and Estelle rushed to his side asking if he was okay. The boy told them that his name is Karol, member of the Hunting Blades, and that he is hunting for an Eggbear. He also offered he can take Estelle and Yuri to the wood’s exit... which is near actually.
In any case, now joined by Krol, the group made their way to the Halure... which has been just attacked by monsters. Estelle quickly helped the injured and the team learnt that the town’s barrier (which happens to be a tree) is too weak to fend off monsters. The tree is dying and Panacea Bottle is needed to restore it. Our heroes gathered necessary ingredients to make one and used it on the tree.
...But nothing happened.
As everything seemed useless Estelle started praying that the tree would bloom again... she glowed and the tree has been restored, blooming better than ever before.
Everyone was happy that the tree barrier was back... but our team had to look for Flynn and so they headed to Aspio.
Aspio was also the place where Yuri was heading to look for someone named Mordio (who stole Zaphia’s Lower Quarter’s Blastia core) and as the group entered and asked around about the person, they found out that Mordio lived in a small hut in the corner of Aspio.
Though, as it turned out it was not the Mordio Yuri was looking for. This one was a girl- Rita Mordio - who also was a Blastia expert. Rita wasn’t too happy to see people barging into her house and calling her a thief (Yuri did that), but as Estelle apologized and introduced herself, the girl was willing to tell them that the thief they’re looking for might be the same as the one who has been stealing from Shaikos Ruins.
And so, the grouped, now joined by Rita headed to the ruins and encountered a caped man, who claimed he’s a mage from Aspio. But Rita knew that if the man was telling the truth he would recognize her (everyone from Aspio did) and as she pointed that out the fake mage send a monster on the team. After they defeated the monster they learnt from corned fake mage that he wasn’t the one who stole the Blastia core from Lower Quarters.
With that they had back to Aspio and said goodbye to Rita... but Rita followed them, telling them she is going to Halure because she heard the tree was dying. The group told her the problem was fixed, but Rita refused to believe and wanted to see for herself, so the team went back to Halure.
As they got back, Rita saw the tree is okay now and the group got attacked by some knights, who wanted to arrest Yuri and return Estelle to the castle. The party was left with no other choice but to flee and headed for Capua Nor, with a clue that Flynn is going to Torim Harbor and will be waiting for them there.
As they were passing through Ehmead Hill, they heard about the dragon rider who was destroying Blastias, but with Rita making a ruckus because of this, they had to find another way around Ehmead Hill.
Finally getting to Capua Nor, the party was surprised by just how rainy the place was. But that wasn’t the only problem. They witnesses the scene between some soldiers and a couple that couldn’t pay their taxes and had their son taken by Magistrate Ragou. The injured man wanted to get the Rhybgaro’s Horn, so his son could be freed, but his wounds were too much. Estelle healed him then.
Soon after this they finally met Flynn, who seemed to be surprised to see the princess here, then told her they need to talk. As Estelle told Fynn everything what happened up until now, the rest gathered some information and then returned to the inn.
Yuri wasn’t happy to hear that the knights can’t do anything for the townspeople of Capua Nor without permission of higher-ups, and so he decided to take the matters in his own hands. The rest of the party (Estelle included) followed him.
But it seemed the only way to actually talk with Magistrate Ragou was to get the Rhybgaro’s Horn. Yet, after the team did get it, Yuri gave it away to the couple from earlier. And so they had to find another way into the Magistrate’s mansion.
Thanks to Raven, the team entered the mansion, saved the son of the couple from earlier and confronted Ragou, also finding out that the Magistrate is keeping a lot of monsters and also has a Blastia that can control weather. But then comes the dragon rider, who destroys the blastia, then knights appear and Ragou escapes on the boat. The party was not going to let him escape though and followed him jumping on the boat. Here they learn that Ragou was working for a man known as Barbos, who is a boss of the guild Blood Alianace. He orders Zagi to fight off Yuri and others, but they of course defeated him.
...Then the boat starts to sink and so the group didn’t have much choice but to jump out of it. They are soon saved by Flynn’s boat. But Flynn’s accompanied by someone else this time and that someone turns out to be Ioder, the other heir to the throne, who was kidnapped by Barbos and Ragou. The Magistrate was arrested and the team got to Capua Torim and from there they headed to Caer Bocram that was rumored to be destroyed by an earthquake.
In there they find out the guild Hunting Blades has been hunting a monster who got inside the barrier... and that Karol was kick out from the guild because he is too much of a coward. Another thing is that the barrier blastia in the city wasn’t working properly and it was making people living in the city sick. Only after the blastia was destroyed by the dragon rider everyone in the city started to feel better... and also the giant monster appeared. The Hunting Blades didn’t manage to defeat it, but our heroes did.
And as they were about to exit the city, Cumore of the knights appear and at this point everyone learnt that Estelle is in fact the princess... though this isn’t too much of a surprise for most of the party.
But at this point Estelle also agrees to return to the castle. Then a little incident with a blastia happened in Heliord and Rita got hurt. Estelle tried to heal Rita and refused to leave her side for as long as the other woke up. Exhausted she fell asleep next to her bed.
After Rita got better Alexei asked her to investigate Keiv Moc and Estelle said she can go with her. Alexei asked Yuri to go with them, too, to protect Estelle. But first they all decide to had to Dahngrest to see Don Whitehorse.
But a city of the guilds had a little problem - the barrier wasn’t working right and so the monsters were attacking the city. The guilds of Dahngrest tried to fight the monsters, then Flynn appeared, but the Don wasn’t too happy to see the knights and said that the guilds don’t need their help.
In any case, our heroes fixed the blastia, then went to Keiv Moc. There they met Raven again. He join s the party. Later they’re attacked by some monsters and saved by a mysterious man named Duke.
The group returns to Dahngrest where they meet the Don and Flynn, saying that knights and guilds should work together gave a letter from Ioder to the Don. Except the letter was switched earlier and now is proclaims that the Don will die. Everyone was shocked, especially Flynn, who was arrested by the angry Don.
Then later it’s revealed that the Don knew all along the letter was fake. In fact Ragou and Barbos where the ones behind all of this. Yuri then went to find the culprits as Flynn looked for the real letter. Yuri also was working together with the dragon rider, who turned out to be a girl named Judith. When he came back to the party, Judith also joins. They later all fought Barbos, but the guy didn’t have a slightest intention to get captured... and he committed a suicide.
So finally Yuri had the stolen blastia back, Estelle was going back to the castle in the morning, Raven and Judith left the party and the rest went back to the Dahngrest. Thanks to Flynn we didn’t get a big war between the knight s and the guilds and everything would be a-okay, if not for Ragou who didn’t get what he deserved. Especially Yuri didn’t like how the guy would just get away with everything he has done, so he killed Ragou. Alone. And the next time anyone was asking of Ragou, Yuri claimed he knows nothing of the matter.
But anyway Dahngrest is suddenly attacked by a giant bird-like monster. And it’s target seemed to be Estelle, to which it was referring as a “poison” that has to be purged. Estelle didn’t know what that meant and the monster was gone after Judith appeared. Then Yuri told Estelle that she has to chose whether she wants to continue her journey or come back to castle. In the mist of chaos, Estelle decided she wants to learn about herself and pretty much ran away from Dahngrest with Yuri.
...But of course the rest also followed. Then when they were far enough Karol and Yuri formed a guild and Estelle named it “Brave Vesperia”.
On their way to Heliord, the group visited Capua Torim to find out that the father of a kid they saved before had gone missing. Estelle asked the Brave Vesperia to take it as their job, telling them she will pay the fee for it later. After some investigation they found out it’s all Cumore and Leviathan’s Claw (or actually Yeager and his two little loli helpers) doing. After some fighting, Cumore and Yeager fled, then Flynn appeared and took care of the rest. The team left to Capua Torim.
In there they met Raven again. They also met Ioder there. Next destination was Nordopolica, where Estelle wanted to speak with the Duce Belius. On their way they saw a ghost ship. And on this ghost ship they found a mysterious box. Estelle asked the Brave Vesperia to return the box to Yormgen, but well, everyone wasn’t too eager about this idea. Though in the end Rita said she will do it instead.
Then they got to Nordopolica, but they couldn’tmeet with the Duce. Not yet, that is. They also met another guild leader - Regaey, who asked them to defeat the current coliseum champion... who turned out to be Flynn. There was more fighting, someone released the monsters from the coliseum and Regaey stole the box our heroes found on the ghost ship. The party was chasing after him and then, well, surprise. Regaey was in fact Yeager in disguise. The party got the box back, but Yeager ran away thanks to his loli helpers. The team then went to village of Mantaic. The giant birds-like monster was named Phaeroh and he lived in the sands of Kogorh, so to meet him and find out why he called Estelle a poison they headed to the village first. There they find out Cumore is kidnapping people and ordering them to capture Phaeroh.
A couple of children’s parents were also taken to the desert. Estelle told Yuri she can go to the desert to meet Phaeroh alone, while he can look for the children’s parents. Yuri and everyone disagrees to this. Then Estelle told him that finding the children’s parents should take priority and with this they all went to the desert. They found the parents eventually, then fought with a strange monster and pass out right afterwards.
Personality:
Let’s start with the fact that Estelle lived a sheltered life inside the castle for the first eighteen years of her life. This fact alone makes her inexperienced of a lot of things. Like living outside of the castle walls, for example. Her curiosity is mostly directed at the simple, little things that ordinary people don’t pay much attention to. Slang or some metaphors sometimes make her confused, too.
Most of the things about the world, Estelle learnt from the books she loves so much. She could read all day if she could and she is often seen reciting various information she read. But unfortunately, life has not much to do with the stories from the books, but Estelle is not quite aware of that. Her life was always simple and even now, when she traveled for some time, she still believes everything is going to be okay in the end. Her optimism stems from belief that good will always triumph and there will be always a happy ending just like in all of those stories she read while still in the castle.
Another thing is that Estelle is kind-hearted person, who tries to see the best in everyone and always rushes to help others without a second thought. Strangers or not, if they are hurt or in trouble, Estelle is going to heal their wounds, or do whatever she can do to help them out. In fact while helping others, Estelle doesn’t care much about herself and can push herself to make sure everyone else is okay. She always puts others before herself.
... But this isn’t such a good thing most of the time. Estelle tends to drag along everyone with herself and often completely forgetting about their primary objective asks them to help this or that person. Or take the box they found on a ghost ship to a city they don’t even know where it is, because the letter that was with it was so sad and all... Estelle can be really simple-minded, focusing too much on whatever currently caught her interest. Or does things without thinking twice, especially when she’s sure that it’s only the right thing to do. She rarely thinks that her actions might have some consequences. Also, she seems to be wishing to make every single person in the entire world happy.
Estelle’s also curious about the world. She would definitely love to see all of it if she could and in her curiosity she can sometimes wander off. Let’s add to this her friendliness toward everyone she meets and the will to help them even though she sees them for the first time in her life and all of this makes her seem really childish and naive.
Though smart, Estelle isn’t exactly the sharpest, but most of the time it’s caused by her lack of experience. When it comes to fighting, she knows how to use a sword and hold her own just fine. On the other hand her kindness shows again, when Estelle tells Yuri that once her journey is over she will make graves for all the fallen monsters.

Third-Person Sample:
They all lost consciousness after fighting the strange monster on the desert. That was the last thing Estelle remembered at least, but now as she looked around, the dreadful scenery before her made her confused.
This place was nowhere near the desert.
What exactly happened? Where is everyone?
“What happened here...?”
The girl, holding her sword and shield in case a monster suddenly appeared, carefully started to walk.
“Yuri?”
No reply.
She should had expected that. Yet, she was still hoping that maybe, maybe the dark-haired former knight will answer.
Estelle panicked a bit, worrying about her friends. What if something bad happened to them? Though, perhaps she shouldn’t be worrying about that. They were much stronger than her, after all. And since she was okay, that must mean they were okay, too... right?
Cheering herself up a little with this, Estelle started walking at a little faster pace. She was hoping to find her friends soon.
First-Person Sample Journal Post:
What could this be...?
[A pink-haired girl looks with curiosity at the device. She is unaware it’s turned on.]
I’ve never seen such a strange blastia before...
[But of course, Estelle is no expert when it comes to blastia, so she couldn’t really tell that the device is by all means not one.
She looks around frowning.]
This place... what happened here?...
[She is walking, looking for someone, worry is visible on her face.]
Yuri?... Rita? Karol? Everyone...?
[though by now she should know that it’s useless to call them. She’s lost. Alone. In an unfamiliar, dreadful place.]
...Anyone?
