challenge #293: Young Adult
Genjyo Sanzo bowed in thanks at the kind family who gave him food and a new set of robes. The couple had coaxed the boy to stay but he declined with such conviction that they sadly let him go.
“Bye!” called one of the children.
Sanzo looked back and saw the siblings playing. Unconsciously he walked over to them, crouched and picked up a toy block.
“Let’s play” one of the kids offered a toy.
The monk wordlessly let go of the block and stood up, his hands reaching for the only toy he ever knew: his Smith & Wesson.
