Non-challenge: Just A Crush
Hakkai drummed his fingers on the table. Gojyo was late. Again.
“I don’t really mind who he’s with or what he’s doing. He took me in. I’m simply grateful. And worried,” he said to the empty kitchen.
His unconvincing protest hung in the still air. He stood up, unable to remain idle with his thoughts.
Two hours later the house was spotless. Laundry done, a meal prepared and wrapped up for when Gojyo saw fit to arrive; Hakkai lay in bed exhausted.
The front door creaked open. Hakkai’s heart jumped.
“It isn’t love,” he whispers to his pillow.
Not yet.
