And this is why A/M is teh squeez0rz. Insert exclamation points as necessary. Here is a... collaborative effort, if you will, between belle_rayma and myself. Yes. The original shippers. Classic Angelina/Montague, j0. And no, it doesn't always have to be about angsty hate!sex, people. EVEN in conjunction with OOTP. That is all I have to say ( Read more... )

I loved this. It was beautiful; I especially liked Montague so polite and considerate even in his hazy state, it added much to his character.

You know, and this may certainly shock a lot of people, but I do NOT see Montague as an arrogant asshole. Mind, this is just my characterization, and no one should accept it as law/necessarily use it/agree/whatever, but... I see him as competitive, certainly, but he has his own code of morals and sense of integrity. I think that if he and Angelina weren't rivals, they would have been friends-- they would have found a lot of things in common. Underneath the competitive Slytherin win-at-any-cost mentality is a fellow who is basically a gentleman, and though he might fight with Angelina, there are certain lines that he'd never cross. For instance, he'd take absolutely no pleasure in making her cry. It's this duality of their relationship that attracts me so much. Again, this is just my interpretation.

That was beautiful!

Angelina describes herself just as I imagine her. She's no princess and she's intimidating because of that.

"You're someone I looked up to, in a way. Someone I respected, whether or not I liked you,"
That's why I love this ship. I love that it's based on mutual respect. Sexual attraction and passion are great but it's better when there's respect at the root.

All the talk about taking liberties had me screaming, "She wants you take liberties, trust me!"

In the grand tradition of things, Ray wrote the Angelina parts, and I can't take credit for her spot-on, absolutely fabulous interpretation. But... yes. I think that even in the fiercest of their battles, even when all that matters is besting each other, there is respect. He has never, ever not found her a worthy opponent, and vice versa. And though they might cross paths violently on the pitch, off the pitch I think he would be respectful in regards to her. He'd certainly not objectify, make lewd comments, or take liberties ;)

Somehow I tend to see her as the one to start it, as it were, in between them. But he's the one to finish it-- she might be the one to take the leap and redefine their relationship from platonic to non-platonic in the first place, but he's the first one to realize or admit that he loves her. Funny how that goes, hmm?
