Angel peered out from Whistler’s battered Chevy Impala at the young girl sucking a lollipop.
A burly man with a thick moustache stepped in front of the girl. “Buffy Summers?”
“Hi!” Buffy was startled. “You're not from Bullock's, are you? ‘Cause I meant to pay for that lipstick.” She flicked away her lollipop stick with her new, and unaccustomed, Slayer strength. It whistled through the open window and struck Angel in the chest.
Whistler choked on the dust and wound his window down. “Hey, Merrick, your girl’s just set a new world record. The fastest ever kill after being Chosen.”
