I am pretty much in agreement here, it felt like goodbye for Sophie and Katia, at least on Sophie's end and that sort of worries me.

I don't think Katia realized that all vampires are not necessarily like Daniel. Keiran definitely can handle her and I think that's a good thing because she can focus on learning what she needs to. And by doing so, we get to learn more of her abilities and what it means! So it's win/win!!

They both needed some sort of middle ground to get too, one less battle to deal with considering where this goes next.

I just think she wasn't prepared for someone who just wasn't going to let her win any sort of ground, no matter how hard she tried. She needs to take ownership of her abilities rather than see them just as something happening to her, so pandering to her was just not the way to do that, and Keiran is definitely not the pandering type XD

Good lord, I really need to save Kieran's name into my spellcheck at some stage.

Poor Sophie, I've always felt she got pretty screwed over because of their mistake. I hope she and Katia can salvage at least some of their relationship.
I do love Katia and her never ending sarcasm, but she does have to stop being so stubborn and try to master her gift. Kieran was especially lovely this update :)

I suppose something I haven't really dealt with well enough before now is that Sophie did really want to become a vampire, it gave her the upper hand in the relationship by being something more than just a little sister that had to be taken care of. That said, she also did presume that her sister was going to need her help, so she got what she wanted and got screwed. They are in the best place they can be with things right now, its not great, but at least they kind of found some peace. If only sarcasm was a superpower ;) She just needs a shift of mindset and Kieran is just the man for the job.

How funny I loved the interaction between Katia and Keiran his politely rude remarks, regarding Daniels warning about her. Especially when he told her to shoo...

What a touching and equally distance telephone conversation, what is happening to Sophie or for that fact what is going to happen to Kat??? I suppose I will have to just wait impatiently 80)

And still no answer on just what she is and what she possess's lol! Interesting conversation and explanation between Keiran and Kat.

He is wonderfully old-fashioned that way, being proper doesn't mean you can't be rude, you just have to do it with style.

Sophie is a bit defeated, she has pretty much been sent to a corner to think about things, and Katia, well I think they are all still working it out, or at least waiting to see just what the extent of it all is going to be.

Wow, I've finally caught up and let me just say, you have an amazing talent for writing. Your use of flashbacks is extrordinay, and every chapter you write, you manage to use some form of suspense to keep us wanting more. Your blog is amazing, and I hope to read more. :)

One internet cookie for you for getting all the way here through all those chapters, and a dozen more for being so lovely. Thanks so much!

I notice Sophie didn't try to argue with Kat's observation about her scariness. No joke. Sophie did make that choice, she was pretty determined actually. One of those 'be careful what you wish for' experiences. It did not empower her to help her sister. It endangered her sister.

Watching Katia relate to Kieran is fascinating. She drops some of her guard, or perhaps she just guards in a different way. Very very different from Daniel. Kieran is such a force in himself.

The relationship between the sisters is heartbreaking. Wonderful, sad, bittersweet.

and don't even start on 'late'.

No point arguing what even she knows is true. She did have good intentions overall, but she just wasn't all that good at understanding what it all meant.

I think you just get so used to dealing with one person in a particular way, he just came at her from left field, so she has to adapt, and maybe even pick up a few things before the defences go up again.

Like I have hinted at above, they needed to get to at least this place before I take them through anything else.

:P
