Pairing: Ian/Paul
Word Count: 100
Point to: Ian
Ian had just put his feet up and opened his book when the doorbell rang. He sighed and tried to ignore it. Surely Paul would get the door. Nope. His partner just sat there with an amused expression on his face. So he gave in. Opening the door, he was faced with three miniature Draculas. What the hell? He felt a hand on his shoulder and a soft voice in his ear. “Has the old man forgotten what day it is then?” Ian looked confused for a moment and kept staring at the kids who watched him expectantly. “Halloween…” Oh.

Thunder rolled, the wind howled, lightning flashed, and Ian curled up on the sofa, trying to get nearer to Paul’s body and steal some of the shared blanket’s warmth. Paul smiled down at him, as he felt Ian shaking slightly with the cold. He put an arm around him and pulled him closer. “Perfect night, hey?”
“Have you been looking outside?”
“Not as much as you. Just watch the film.”
“I always think horror films are must enjoyable on a stormy, dark night when you feel cold and miserable.”
Paul turned the DVD off and took Ian’s hand. “I’m here.”

Ian laid in bed trying not to think about Paul being on tour - he missed him a lot, more than he thought he would. Then came the sounds. Knocking. A creaking door. He buried his head in the pillow. The door to the bedroom opened quietly and footsteps padded across the room. Suddenly, hot breath was on his neck and a deep voice spoke in his ear. “I’m your worst nightmare, Hislop…” His name. Then he felt lips on his and the next moment he was on his back, looking up into the eyes of Paul. The devil. His angel.

Ian looked over at Paul, slightly confused. He was wearing a cape. It was long and seemed like black velvet, rimmed with red. He made fun of it in the show - even Angus getting a few good gags in. But why? He sat in the dressing room, back to the door. It opened and then he was against the wall. Paul was staring intently into his eyes and holding the cape up with one hand, blocking them from anyone’s view. Ian tried to move. Paul shook his head and kissed him deeply. What choice did Ian have? He gave in.

Ian leant back on the sofa, sighing melodramatically. Victoria nudged him, trying to get his notice and he looked up in surprise. Paul simply smiled serenely at his friends. “So, how are the kids then?”
Ian put his head in his hands. “I’m at my wit’s end. Twilight. Bloody Twilight."
“What?”
“You know - that ridiculous teenage girl vampire romance that everyone is obsessed with.”
“No.”
“You lucky sod. It’s the bane of my miserable life thanks to my beloved daughter.”
Victoria glanced at Paul. “Yes, he has lived an awfully hard life.” Paul raised an eyebrow and she laughed.

“Do you have to read out loud in bed?”
“It’s a classic. I thought you liked those. You know - Mr Hislop, authority on all things poncey, old fashioned and classic. Just listen. I’m acting here. Doing the voices and everything.”
“Yeah. Thanks. Much appreciated.”
“…a hideous, bloodcurdling screech came from the opened red lips. The body shook and quivered and twisted in wild contortions. The sharp white champed together till the lips were cut, and the mouth was smeared with a crimson foam."
“Paul…”
“Mmm?”
“Hold me.”
Paul put the book down and encircled Ian with his strong arms. “Always.”
