Summary: Zoro is training in the snow, and Sanji shows a bit more care for the swordsman that he’d like to.

The weather had changed again. Snow now covered the deck of the Going Merry and the ship moved slowly through cold water. Puffs of breath drifted before Zoro’s face; the swordsman shivered slightly as the win nipped at his bare chest and torso. Quiet grunts escaped him as he lifted his weights, faithful to his training regime, despite the cold, white fluff falling onto his head and shoulders.

“Oi, Marimo. You better not get sick. I don’t want my best herbal recipes being used for you when they could be saved for Nami-san or Robin-chan.”

Zoro spared a glance over his shoulder at the approaching chef. He frowned.

“What the hell do you want, shitty cook?”

A soft thunk sounded at Zoro’s feet when a tray was placed on the floor of the deck with a mug of steaming hot cocoa on it. Zoro paused completely, mid-lift.

“What’s that for?”

Sanji turned his face - now turning a little red - away from the swordsman, covering it up by taking out a cigarette and placing it between his lips.

“So you don’t freeze your ass off, stupid.”

Zoro turned his head as well, even though the cook wasn’t looking at him.

“…I don’t need it.”

“Hn.” Sanji released a thin trail of smoke, then turned casually on his heels and started to return to the galley. “You’re welcome, shithead.”

When the galley door swung shut, Zoro continued lifting his weights. He was doubtful of how useful the cocoa would be. His face already felt warm enough.
