Summary: Takes place during the Straw Hat crew’s three-day rest in Alabasta, after all the fighting. Nami shows Usopp how pleased she is with his handiwork.
As soon as Usopp’s mummy-like bandages were removed, Nami took his hand and dragged him someplace where they could be alone. And then, she kicked him.
“Oww! What was that for?!”
“That was for not telling about those lame distractions the Clima-Tact has before I used it!”
“Lame?” The sniper sniffed indignantly. “I'll have you know that coming up with those tricks took a lot of work on my part, and they are genius. Not to mention, it took a lot of time to perfect the arrangement of those flowers.”
“The flowers did look very pretty… But you still could’ve mentioned it!”
“All right, all right, I’m sorry! Sheesh! You didn’t have to kick m-”
Peck~!
There was a pause in which Usopp’s vision went just a little bit hazy, and his face went just a little bit cherry-colored, and his voice went just a little bit too high.
“N-Nami--! Wha-I-I--!”
“And that,” she said, wiping her finger over the spot where her lips had left a bit of gloss, “was for making me the most awesome weapon ever.”
“Uh, well,” he tried to speak through the tremor in his voice, “wha-what else would you expect from the m-marvelous C-Captain Usopp?”
She smirked, leaning a slightly close again just to see him jump.
“Why, nothing but the best, ‘Captain’.”
She kissed him again, and Usopp wondered why he hadn’t done this earlier.
