There was a lump under the covers, dimly visible in the dull light of false dawn that crept through the crack in the curtains. Harry crept toward it, mindful of the creaky floorboard, and sat down on the edge of the bed.

"Percy?" he murmured.

"Go away." Percy answered sharply, muffled by the comforter.

"No." Harry tugged at the covers, fruitlessly.

"It's too early to start in on me again," Percy snapped, and Harry stilled his hand.

"What?"

Percy finally poked his head out, frowning. "Like you don't know. They way you've all been snapping at me and blaming me and making jabs when I've come back and I've swallowed my pride and apologised and admitted I was wrong, all for your sakes!"

Harry said softly, "I haven't."

"No," Percy retorted defensively, "you've just been refusing to speak to me, but it's only a matter of time before the dam breaks, now isn't it?"

Harry looked at Percy, who seemed oddly vulnerable with sleep-mussed hair and no glasses. Younger than he was. "I just didn't know what to say."

"What do you mean?" An edge of suspicion still lingered in his voice, and Harry sighed.

"I like you. But I like your family, too. What was I supposed to do, choose?"

Percy sat up, focusing on Harry as much as he could without the ever-present horn-rimmed glasses. "You... like me?"

The disbelief in his voice made Harry realise, altogether too suddenly, what he should have known all along- the Weasleys may have loved Percy, but no one, not even them, had ever really liked him.

"Yeah," Harry said, a little awkwardly, "I... I do."

Even in the dim light, Harry could see Percy's skin flush scarlet, swallowing his freckles. "Really? But... I thought....."

"Well... I mean... you're alright, you know? You... you mean well, even if sometimes it doesn't work."

Percy smiled, actually smiled, and Harry realised he'd never seen him do that before. It was... nice. He had a nice smile.

"You should smile more often," Harry said, and Percy's flush darkened a little, but he grinned.

"Maybe I will."
