My father was the first casualty in my family. He died fighting for the remains of the Order of the Phoenix, by Avada Kedavra that a Death Eater cast. Suddenly, the war was that much more personal for me.
Second was Fred. He was walking in fucking Diagon Alley, and he died there. The murderer was never caught. I couldn't comprehend that he, who was only four years older than I, could now be dead.
I think George went slightly insane of grief, because he become suicidally reckless after that, and died soon after. There was no more laughter in our family.
The losses brought Percy back to our family again, but it also made him a target. He wasn't used to being careful, and died by a stupid mistake of walking alone in the street at night. I don't think I've never seen mum in as big a shock as when she heard the news.
Bill, oh Bill. My favourite brother. So brave, he died saving a small Muggle child. It felt so unfair to me, because Muggles have plenty of children while our family, once so ample, was becoming so scarce.
My mother died of sorrow. With four of her children and her husband dead, she lost all will to live. She would just lie in her bed and not eat what I offered her or speak when I spoke to her. Then one morning, she didn't wake up.
Charlie disappeared. We don't know if he was killed fighting or captured and tortured to death. I know he didn’t run away.
Then it was just me and Ron. I would never have thought that our family would meet such tragedy, and that I'd be all alone in the world, beside my brother, at the age of nineteen.
