lilydahlia "Hey Lisa, what are you doing after dinner?" Dean asked, running up to the blue-eyed girl in the hall.
"Just studying, Dean. Why?" She turned away from her friends and faced the dark skinned boy.
"I was just wondering if you could help me with Arithmancy. We've got that big test coming up."
"Sure, Dean. No problem. Where do you want to meet?"
"Come up to the Astronomy Tower after supper."
She smiled and started to back away. "Absolutely. I'll see you then." She waved and turned back to her friends to head into the Great Hall.
After dinner, Lisa stopped by her dorm to pick up her book before heading to the Tower. When she arrived, she was surprised to find the Tower floor lined with candles, and a blanket spread in the middle. "Dean, what's going on?" she asked into the darkness.
Suddenly, she felt a pair of lips on the back of her neck and she dropped her book on the floor.
"Hey," Dean said from behind her.
"Dean!" she said, jerking away from him. "What he hell are you doing?"
"Lisa, I've been waiting for you for a long time. I want to be with you." He stepped closer to her, causing her to back up.
"Dean, what are you thinking? You know I'm with Fred."
"He's graduated, Lisa. He's gone. I don't want to be rude, but I'm sure he's forgotten all about you."
Dean, you know that's not true," she said, pointing at him. "I saw him last weekend. He writes me almost every day, and he gave me this necklace." She held up her necklace, a silver Celtic knot of a leather strap. "He loves me, Dean. And I love him."
Dean's face fell, and e looked hurt. "But. . . Lisa. I love you. And I'm here."
"Dean, you don't love me," she said, stepping up to him and putting her hand on his cheek. "You know you don't. It would never work, Dean. I love Fred. More than anything." She gave him a sad smile and quickly left, leaving her book on the floor and Dean staring after her.
