AN: I'm really not fond of the Sirius/Lily pairing, but this came into my head.
Her eyes were brilliant green. Bright and piercing green, I longed to be able to stare into them. But I didn’t have that privilege. Her hair was dark red and beautiful. Long and straight, I longed to run my fingers through its softness. But I didn’t have that privilege.
I caught her green eyes staring at me from across the room. We were getting ready for Graduation: Thirty-seven hours, twelve minutes and nine… ten… eleven seconds.
She smiled at me, causing my heart to skip a beat. It wasn’t an ‘I like you’ smile; it was an ‘I’m bored’ smile. James was rattling along about how we should see each other again over the summer. We shook our heads and laughed, trying to steer James away from the sappy conversation.
When she looked at him, I saw the love in her green eyes. I wished, oh how I wished, she would look at me that way. But alas, the only woman I ever loved had to be in love with my best mate. Damn you James Potter. Damn you Lily Evans.
