Trust me when I tell you that you have nothing to be scared of yet. Celebrate it and celebrate it as hard as you can. You're turning 17. I'm being as straight and forthright as I can when I tell you that the next several years are a time to savor every moment you can. Because once those years of late teenage/early adulthood (and the actual ages this covers varies from person to person) are gone, they're really and truly gone, believe me

I realized the comment I just posted might sound a little scary, too. To put some perspective on it, let me just say there are some great benefits that come with getting older, too. Most of the things that get you down drama-wise fall away, disappear, and become unimportant in the big picture as you mature. I'm talking about drama like the little pissant drama that we've all seen around cast as of late. Amongst my "peer-group" drama tends to be less about things like, "what he/she said last night about so-and-so" and "what he/she thinks about so-and-so" and more about things that really matter in the long run...like child custody and divorce...and happen less often.
Thanks! I know that it's not a bad thing, it's just weird to think about the idea of adding another year, and.. where that takes you to. I love it. It's just kind of nerve wracking at the same time :]
