To me, this situation feels like love attempting to find the least evil choice available--I think it's good to know how to defend one's self, but I don't think either learning it or teaching it are sweet, per se.

I think I was really looking at him reaching out to Seamus, knowing that he can't teach him anything about magic, but doing what he thought as the next best thing to try and keep his son safe.
