Assigned to a seat between his and Cassidy's, Kate answers to Freckles all night -- he never shook the habit -- and drinks champagne while he watches.
He asks her to dance. The table is all eyes, and she laughs, head shaking, but stands with him.
Hands respectful at her waist, he asks how she's been, where she's been, where she's going. She answers each without complaint.
The song fades away; she kisses his jaw. "Love you too, James."
