As I sit here idly browsing on Facebook, I saw an event someone had created for the Perseids meteor shower. The Perseids peak tonight - well, tomorrow morning around 6AM CDT. This is the first year I've lived far enough out of "the city" that I don't have much "light pollution," and I'd have a chance to see some spectacular displays of stellar

Meteors are cool. Indeed, I remember having a similar experience to yours, lying on my levee watching the streaks cross the sky.

Fortunately at least two meteor showers (Leonids and Perseids) are annual, so there's always next year.
