Lucien grinned as he walked down the hall. He was sure he'd done it right this time! He'd been real careful, and he'd made sure to get all of Yoko's underwear this time. She was going to be so happy with him! He loved doing her laundry. Really, he loved doing any laundry, not just Yoko's, but hers was the most important, of course. She was Yoko-san, after all!
The other women in the laundry room had laughed when they'd seen him, ruffling his hair. They were used to seeing him bustling about the castle like this, and never bothered censoring their words anymore. Today, they'd spent a long time discussing 'that wizard.' Somewhere in the back of Lucien's mind, there was something that bothered him about that. It seemed there was something he should know.
But then again, there were a lot of things that Yoko said that he should know, and he didn't. So he plastered the smile back on his face and trotted down the hall.
All the girls in the bathroom talking
who they gonna take to the Sadie Hawkins
My ears are burning but I kept on walking
smile on my face and an air guitar rocking
He was excited today. There was something going on, he just knew it. Yoko had spent all morning doing... something. She'd been happy about something. He wasn't sure what, but something. And it involved him. He was sure of that. So he had to make sure he had all her laundry done!

Lucien walked cautiously past the rooms where the stable boys lived. The only way to the laundry room was past them, and they normally came out and pushed him around if they spotted him. He'd been lucky that morning, but he didn't expect that every time. The last time... He couldn't remember when that'd been, but last time he'd gotten a black eye before Yoko had saved him. He had a lot of holes in his memory now, something that might have bothered him if he'd taken the time to stop and think about it.
This time though, as they came out, they weren't jeering. They weren't yelling anything at him, and they didn't have any rocks.
"Hi!" He said brightly. Yoko had taught him to be polite, after all.
"Hey," the boy in front responded, looking at him cautiously. "Hey, uh... We're sorry."
"For what?" Lucien couldn't think of anything they'd done to be mean today.
"For... you know. The stuff we said. Before." The boy shared a meaningful glance with his compatriots. "Since, you know, you've got that wizard..."
There was a presence in the back of his mind Lucien was suddenly aware of. He'd always had it, but normally it didn't do anything, and Lucien forgot about it. But this time, he could feel it struggling. it wanted to get out, to rip the boys limb from limb while laughing at their pain. It wanted to blow up everything in it's path and listen to the screams of the mortals as they writhed in pain.
But Lucien didn't want to do any of those things. Yoko would be mad! So instead, he grinned. The boys were being nice! He could be nice too! "That's okay! I'm not mad!"
Sitting in the back of my next class napping
Got up, gave a speech, then bowed to the clapping
Told a funny joke got the whole class laughing
think I got a tan from the light which I was basking
He got back to the room just as Yoko got in. Proudly, he presented her with the laundry he'd done just for her. She wasn't happy with him.
"Lucien! You...!"
She looked mildly ashamed when he put his hand to his cheek where her hand print was slowly turning pink and sniffled.
"Yoko-san, why are you all red?"
He was used to the matching hand prints by now, but that didn't mean he understood. Confused, he sat down outside her room. What had he done?
And would he get to do that thing with Yoko she was so happy about?

It was lunchtime now, and Lucien was happy. Yoko wasn't mad at him anymore! She still wouldn't tell him what he'd done, but that was okay. He'd do better next time! Yoko was serving in the lunch line today, and Lucien was sure she'd give him food. She was Yoko, after all!
But the soldiers weren't very nice, at all. They were never very nice to Lucien. They were more cautious around him now, and he didn't know why, but they still weren't nice. He was just standing in line for food, just like them, after all! But they shoved him around and laughed at him.
"Look at the shrimp!"
"What are you doing here, little boy?"
"He's so tiny! I thought he was fifteen?"
Lucien yelped as one of the men tossed him to the ground. Scooting back on the floor, he stared up at the men surrounding him. Suddenly, he decided it was time to get away. They were scaring him! Dashing between their legs, he managed to get past them and out into the cafeteria, but now he didn't have any food.
And then Yoko was there.
Scan the cafeteria for some good seating
I found a good spot by the cheerleaders eating
The quarterback asked me if I'd like a beating
I said that's one thing I won't be needing
And since I'm rather smart and cunning
I took off down the next hall running
Only to get stopped by a girl so stunning
only to get stopped by a girl so stunning
"You jerks! Stop picking on him!" Yoko wielded the ladle angrily, standing between Lucien and the soldiers. The men backed off immediately. Yoko was respected, and it just wouldn't do to make her angry.
Turning, she knelt beside Lucien. "Here. Let's get you some lunch, okay? We've got a big party tonight, and you're going to be my date!"
"Really? A date? Yay!" Lucien wasn't sure what a date was, but it involved a party, so it must be fun!
She said, "You're smooth, and good with talking.
You're going with me to the Sadie Hawkins"
Yoko helped Lucien get into his clothing that night. She briefly contemplated switching him out for DS, but shook her head. DS might make her heart race, but Lucien deserved this just as much. Besides, she didn't get to see Lucien nearly as often as she liked anymore, and it was upsetting.

Lucien smiled up at her innocently, and she ruffled his hair.
"Do I look handsome, Yoko-san?"
"You're the handsomest, Lucien!"
