“She loves you…” Sofia’s last words hit home as Sara stood watching Cath from outside her room. Cath woke, her blue eyes filling with tears, her blonde hair in disarray. She looked so small, so lost…
Sara entered silently, sitting herself on the edge of Cath’s bed, her brown eyes flickering with a tender warmth as she tucked some of her own brown hair out of her eyes before gently stroking Cath’s blonde hair from her blue eyes, slowly trailing her hand over Cath’s cheek, smiling softly at Cath’s surprised look. “Hey…”
“Hey…” Cath’s voice sounded weak. “Guess you heard…”
“Yeah…” Sara’s voice was soft, she shifted closer to Cath, cradling her close as she cried, tenderly kissing her, naturally comforting and caressing. Cath remained close, letting Sara sooth her and settle her in her lap, nuzzling Sara’s neck as she snuggled close, Sara’s gentle kisses and touch soothing her to sleep.
Sara watched her sleep silently, finally daring to hope…
