Sara stood staring out the window of her home, her bedroom. She felt tired…more emotionally than physically. She had let her brown hair curl over her face, hiding her brown eyes. She wore a light oriental style robe and not much else. Her eyes filled with usually well-hidden emotion. She shivered delicately and sighed.
“Something wrong?” Cath asked softly, her blonde hair shining as she crossed to embrace Sara tenderly. Her blue eyes misted as she brushed Sara’s hair from her eyes and took in the emotions in Sara’s eyes. “What’s wrong Sara?” She stepped closer, her tenderness welcomed by Sara. Cath herself wore a simple robe and the two stood together in silence for moments before Sara spoke.
“It’s been years since Mom shot Dad…” She admitted, letting Cath see her cry for possibly the first time in 2 years, since they first dated. “It’s the anniversary today…” She sniffled weakly, unused to being open about her feelings, she was a little surprised when Cath pushed her gently back into the bed, curling next to her, kissing her gently, the love in her eyes clear as she let Sara cry and talk, listening carefully and not judging Sara at all. “How can you still love me?” Sara asked.
“Sara…I love you…every little thing about you…I love you because you’re so honest and because you love me…” Cath replied, kissing Sara again. “You’re beautiful…sleep now sweetheart…”
Sara smiled softly and slept, guarded by Cath’s loving embrace.
