Summary: Stolen moments of passion were what they lived for.
Disclaimer: Apparently, so canon, but this is just fiction, promise.
Stolen moments of passion were what they lived for. Their love was always confined to hotel rooms, to “do not disturb” signs hung on doorknobs and the phone off-the-hook.
The sheets that changed from hotel to hotel acted like a kind of temporary existence - they were locked together in time, and the rest of the world fell away. That’s why they didn’t mind touring - the hotels gave them a chance to wake up together. That was a luxury that they didn’t get a lot, yet it was the simplest of pleasures - falling asleep holding hands.
Such a strange medium, hotels - they were in public but the door provided a buffer. Such a wonderful thing - the door. Because closed doors were the only way they could be open. It was sad, and acutely annoying, but it was true. Sometimes love isn’t easy.
