He loved to see the look on her face when she opened up her next present, the small smile that reached her beautiful eyes and the kiss on the cheek that made him feel alive.
He preferred to buy her something from each city they visited. A little memorabilia of every show and every night spent in each other’s arms. It was a way to be openly affectionate without drawing too much suspicion from observing fans. Everyone just assumed that Tarja loved to shop.
There were only ever little gifts, wrapped in tissue paper with pink ribbon. Tarja kept every ribbon, and ran them through her fingers whenever she felt lonely. That ribbon tied her heart to his, simple as that.
