When Nick got to the print lab he found it full of his co workers patiently waiting for the results from codis. Not long after Mandy started the search a perfect match was found.

Nick leaned in closer to the screen to read the man’s name and look at his face. “Paul T. Grenville, he’s from Vegas.”

“Do you know him, Nicky?”  Catherine asked as he stared at the man’s picture.

“Nope, I don’t think I’ve ever seen him before in my life.” Nick had hoped he knew the man and the reason why he was tormenting him.

“Well he has a long list of priors.” Warrick noted as he pointed to the screen. “Look, two for vandalizes, 2 for assault, he’s spent time for breaking an entering and assault. This guy doesn’t learn does he?”

“It looks he doesn’t learn.” Sara agreed. “He looks like our man from his arrest sheet.”

Greg came into the room when he saw everyone gathered around the monitor. “What’s up guys?”

“We just found out who‘s been stalking Nick.”

“Oh yeah, that’s great news.” Greg said as he leaned in closer to take at look at the suspect’s picture. His face went pale and he let out a gasp.

“What wrong, Sanders?” Warrick asked when he saw his reaction to the picture.

“I… I know him.” The young CSI stuttered out the replied with his eyes glued to the image

“You do?” Catherine turned facing the youngest of the crew. “Who is he, is he from an old case you guys had?”

Greg bit down on his lip as he read the list of priors.  “No.” Greg turns towards the tall Texan. “Um, Nick I need to talk to you… in private.”

Nick turned around and saw the look on his ex’s face. “What is it, just tell me. How do you know him?”

Greg looked away from the monitor and lowered his head. “He’s the guy I was with that night you called.”

Nick let out a grumble. “Are you serious?”

Greg kept his head down but nodded to the question.

“Great, you get a fatal attraction but he comes after me? Why is he fucking with me?”

“I don’t know, Nicky.”

“Has he said anything to you about me?”

“No, I haven’t talked to him since that night… or well the next day. He called me. I don’t even know how he got my number, but I told him I made a mistake and I didn’t want anything to do with him.”  Greg lifted his head and saw all his co workers were staring at him. “Can we talk about this in private?”

“No, this is your fault now we’re all dealing with it. I can’t believe this.” Nick glared at the man’s face. “How much about me or us did you tell him?”

“I didn’t tell him anything about you. I just said I had a boyfriend and I made a mistake. I’m sorry, Nick.”

“Yeah you sure did make a huge mistake. Where does he live and what do you know about him?”

“I don’t know where he lives, we went to a… hotel and I know nothing about him but his name. I didn’t even know his last name.”

“God Greg, you’re unbelievable.”

“I’m sorry, Nick. Please I’ll make this up to you.”

“How, Greg? I have some psycho after me because you can’t keep your dick in your pants.” Nick saw the hurt look on the younger man’s face, but he didn’t care. He had been hurt by him enough and now this. “He knows we’re broke up, right?” Greg nodded. “Then why is he doing this to me?”

“I don’t know.” Greg could feel his co workers all staring at him. The room fell silent as he and his ex exchanged words. “I’ll have Archie check my cell records. He called me, the number should be traceable.”

Greg quickly left the room, heading to the AV lab.  As everyone suspected, the number was traced back to a prepaid cell phone with no id. They had the man’s name and his address, but when Brass and patrol went to his address they found an abandoned building. Now they were at a dead end. Nick was in the break room catching some much needed quiet alone time, when Greg came in and took a seat across from him at the table.

“I’m going to pay whatever it cost to have your truck fixed.” The younger man stated with a low voice.

“What, no way man. My insurance will cover most of it.”

“No Nick, this is my fault and I’ll pay for the damage, all of it. Why should your insurance pay it then hike your rates up. Let me pay it.”

“Greg, it’s going to be like over five thousand dollars, where are you going to get that kind of money?”

“I have some savings and I’ll get a loan to cover what I don’t have.”

“Keep your money. I’ll let my insurance handle it.”

“Please Nicky, I feel terrible about this.”

“You can pay the deductable, it’s a thousand.”

“Okay and I’ll pay the difference if your insurance goes up.”

Nick shrugged his shoulders. “Fine!”

After a few minutes of silence, Greg cleared his throat. “I’m so sorry for all this. I never meant to hurt you and I want to make things right between us. I miss you, Nicky.”

“Greg, please. I’m really too upset with you right now to talk to you. There’s nothing you can say to make this right again.”

Greg slid out of his chair and out of the break room. His eyes were glasses, tears threatened to pour from them. He had really lost his Nicky forever. As he walked along the hallway fighting his tears, he thought of how to redeem himself in his ex’s eyes. He stopped dead in his tracks. “I need to find the bastard that caused this.” He turned his head and looked at his own reflection in the glass wall of the lab. He knew he found the person responsible, he could really only blame him self.  But there was a man out there doing terrible things to the man he… loved and he needed to protect him from anything else the psycho had planned for him.
