Inspiration: The 10K_drabbles pair request requirement for a minor character pair had me stumped. Then I pulled this out of my hat... Metafrantic made me do it *g*. But then I'm relatively easy that way.

This sent me into giggles. Your prose was awesome and the actual content was just hilarious. Fawkes/Sorting Hat? That has to be the oddest pairing I've ever seen written. (Which I guess was the point, right?)

Yep, that was the point :D
The rhyming verse just seemed too perfect to put it into the Hat's POV, but it made it more of a challenge to keep the rhyme, the scansion, and the word count. Very fun to write. Thanks for commenting!

There's no way I would be able to keep all of that strait if I were the one writing it, but you pulled it off perfectly. I think the rhyme just makes the fic. It's so easy to see the Hat thinking something like that (or even singing it - lol).
